If you know the town, could you tell me if the docks used by the cruise ships are near the train station? If we went to the docks by car is there somewhere to park. Maybe NCP car park or something. We aren't going until next summer but would like to know best way to meet the ship.

We have cruised from Southampton. We flew from Edinburgh to Southampton Airport, caught the train into Southampton and then got a taxi from the station to the docks. Taxi fare was about £10. This was 2 years ago, so will be about £15 - £20 now. Journey was about 20 minutes. Plenty of Taxis waiting at station and Docks so no hassle.

There is parking by the docks, not sure about the price, there are 2 major docks, one is 5pounds by cab for the train station, you can even walk.
The other one is far to walk but the taxi is about 10 pounds.
I got stuck there once with a ship that broke down, we spent a week in the city, it was fun.

Neither are the terrific team in the international by a protracted way, yet Portsmouth. the people who run Southampton have lost the plot, and getting Clive Woodward in from Rugby Union has unsettled the full club.
