I have kids. My point is: aint this an education show? So why have a problem with it just because it's from Mexico and uses the Spanish language.

Yep. I am fed up with the immigration problem and all that but I too like Dora and all the kids in our family love Dora. I have no problem with it. Except, like another commenter said, we have to keep an eye on Swiper. LOL

My daughter loves Dora. I don't think she realizes Dora is, or is supposed to be foreign. And many kids do learn simple words in Spanish from it. I think It'd help kids learn about diversity. I have a friend in the Netherlands. They play Dora there in Dutch and the inserts that would be in Spanish here are done in English there...I know in Mexico they play it in Spanish and the inserts are in English as well. Good educational TV show I think.

For the IDIOT who says you can't find good paying jobs if you are bilingual, it's just the opposit:

If you are set against illegals why try to prove a point using the innocence of a children's program??? More than just Mexicans immigrant's speak Spanish there are those from Honduras, Peru, Argentina.... Just to pick on Mexico is a biased opinion.

have you ever even seen the show? because that's not the point of it.

do you understand that Spanish is the second language here? it's impossible to get away from.
The show teaches kids how to follow directions, a few primary Spanish words, and about friendship.

If I were a betting woman, which I am, I would bet that you don't have any children.

But why doesn't that iguana have toes? Did some evil entity amputate all its digits while Dora was fooling around with Diego? Or did Swiper swipe them?
