Historically, people have always used the Bible to justify their bigotry. The Jews have been persecuted throughout Christian history for failing to acknowledge Jesus, and for their supposed role in his death. The OT texts that endorse slavery were used by the anti-abolitionists here in America, as were the legends relating to the "Curse of Cain." And of course we all know how modern "Christians" love to use their cherry-picked, misinterpreted texts from Leviticus and Paul's Epistles to justify their irrational hatred of gay people. It's par for the course.
I'm not saying that religion is inherently bigoted; but it certainly provides a very powerful language whereby to legitimize one's bigotry, whatever it may be. ALL of history is witness to this basic fact.
LOL...now let the thumbs down begin, because I've spoken the plain truth. I know how it works on here.

The tower of Bable has nothing to do with rasicism. The people at that time were so full of pride that they decided that they wanted to build a tower to heaven. That was insulting to God so he made different languages at that time so that they would never get together and get in there mind to do something so stupid. He didn't split people up so they could hate each other but so they wouldn't be unified on something so ingonant as an idea to build a tower to heaven.

In the aftermath of the confusion at Babel, it is only the language that was affected there wasn't any race division. In Africa south of the Sahara, we have about a thousand or so different languages and dialects but we are all of one race - we are all Negroes. Different language does not mean different race. People who have little respect for God generally and mischievously misinterpret the scriptures to show how foolish they are.

Not even going to check out to reply the query when you consider that I realize that my interpretation of the God that's within the Bible is racist. He was once supposedly the one that invented racism through making all people be one of a kind while he bought miffed approximately the men and women seeking to construct a tower simply in order that they would see him...How petty is that besides? I desired to reply and aid you when you consider that such a lot of persons look to be kickin you within the nuts when you consider that you factor out the visible undeniable fact that the King James Version of the Bible was once contradictory and edited through MAN.. Cheers Dude!!

God confused their language to scatter them over the face of the whole earth before He separated it into the continents. They were probably very close in race at that time. It has only been within the last 40 years where everything was interpreted as racist!!

"Do not be unequally yoked." means not with someone who doesn't believe the same.
Since we're all technically of the same race (Adam and Eve), there should not be any overriding reason not to. Cultural differences are a big issue, however, so people should look into that before they get seriously involved with someone of a different people group or culture..
Write a letter of protest to the college, listing exactly what was said, and what's wrong with it.

The stated purpose for the destruction of the tower was because people were "getting too big for their britches" and thinking they didn't need God. It had nothing to do with fomenting hatred. That being said, it's obviously not a literal story--but people will grab onto any pathetic excuse to rationalize their hatreds.

I dont think God destroyed the tower of babel because he wanted people to be racist. I think that was a spin the devil put on it to create hate because of differences.

No the tower of Babel has nothing to do with race. The languages of men were confounded so that they could not work together on the tower which was an affront to God.

Wow - those people are really working hard to twist that in. What's wrong with those people are they don't know squat about the Bible.
There is nothing in the Bible against interracial dating or marriage. Don't worry about it.
