For Christians that judge Mitt Romney inappropriate, or incapable, as a president of the USA because he’s Mormon: What are your reasons for not voting for him?

Over 30% of the USA says they either wouldn’t vote for or have reservations about voting for Mitt Romney because he’s Mormon. It’s well known that a large percentage of those people are conservative Christians, especially in the Bible belt.

If you are not American but you would still not vote for Mitt Romney, if you had the chance, because you judge his religion to make him incapable of being a good world leader, I’m fine with you answering too.

What is it that you believe about Mormons that cause you to judge Romney incapable of leading the nation based on his Mormon beliefs?

Please note: if you wouldn’t vote for Mitt Romney because of his politics, not because of his religion, this question isn’t for you. Obviously if you would vote for Romney, this question isn't for you either.

I haven't decided whether I would vote for him or not. I like some of what he stands for. I am still waiting to see who makes it through.

As to what ericabishop691 said, I don't see how he could do that. He doesn't make law and he did say at one point (I think it was him) that although he didn't like abortion, he wouldn't make it illegal as he would rather have the women do it the safe way and not in some back alley.

they do no longer look to be balloting for a countrywide faith. they're balloting for a guy to steer our usa. he's no longer implementing his faith on everyone, it won't impact his management skills. might desire to fundamentalists vote for a Catholic or a Jew? could they be so closed minded as to in basic terms vote for a man or woman in line with their faith and not their skill to do the job? If a man or woman have been going to be employed to be the superintendent of the interior reach college district, could they like to hire the guy who believed the way they do in spite of if he have been incompetent, as against a man or woman who grew to become right into a great educator? I only don't be attentive to roughly human beings some situations. i haven't been waiting to vote for a Mormon for president ever, and that i'm a Mormon. I relatively have voted for human beings from all non secular backgrounds all my existence, because of the fact i presumed they have been the perfect man or woman for the job.

For me it has nothing to do with the fact that he is a Mormon. It has to do with the fact I don't think a true Christian would even run for President and also you should not use your faith to further your political career

Please stop generalizing. I think he is the best Republican for the job so far, but I hope for a late entry from a more conservative man.

Quite aside of his flip-flopping on serious issues, dear one, the man isn't fit to be president. He brought same-sex marriage into being in Massachusetts so he could come against it and appear to be a hero. That alone makes him a dangerous man.

The very fact that he belongs to a cult, makes him unfit to be in the White House. He cannot be trusted.

God bless!

i think that once he ever gained control of the white house, then he would try to unsucessfully shove mormonism down the throats of the ppl in the country. Just my opinion, cause i used to be mormon, and they believe in proseltyzation to the nth degree. They are forceful of their religion, and I think it would be a mistake for him to be in office. Also, he qwould try to get abortion banned, and i , for one, would not hold for that. i believe in choices, and if he were in office, he would not allow for choices, except for those who are mormon.
