they make their being human as an excuse for being imperfect like all humans are when they make mistakes, but when it comes to people questioning their interpretation of the Bible they are suddenly infallable!
what happened to the "we are only humans, we are not perfect" excuse?

fundies always say that they must spread the truth (which is their own interpretations of the Bible. and they claim they can never be wrong because the Holy Spirit is guiding them. that claim, by the way, is very questionable as well).

God forbid their mistakes include their interpretation of biblical doctrine.
That would mean that they could be wrong about damning sinners to hell.

the bible is something that you have to divide into interpretations. like when it says "do not commit adultery" does that also mean masturbation? you see? every thelogian will be a certain shade of grey depending on how well they #1 critical think and #2 apply analogical circumstance.... for the most part you have to put the right analogy to the right circumstance...... which easily can fail.... especially for someone who isn't already a literature guru! I hope this helps!

WE'RE not infallable. The word of God is. If you are insinuating that because the Bible is written by man that it has the possibility of being false, then let me offer this to you: When you write a paper, do you say that you wrote it or the pen? Of coarse, you say that you wrote it and the pen was the tool that you used to write it. The Bible was written by God, he used certain men to get it done.
repost:
truth is truth no matter what people's interpretations or beliefs are. If I steal a car, get caught, and stand before a judge, guilty, I can't just tell him or her that I don't believe in them or that my interpretation of the law differs from theirs. Regardless of what we believe or how we interpret things, reality will take over. So, it is my advice to everyone to ensure that what you believe about the afterlife is correct before you get there.

Because in the last days there will be a group of people on this earth that will see eye to eye on the scriptures. Isa. 52:8 & Eph. 4:11-17Speaking of the ministry, 13, Until we all come in the UNITY of the FAITH, So you see the religious world will never see this, But the Bride will.

I don't consider myself a fundie but ........whatever.
We are not infallible, the Word of God is.
And when it comes to interpreting it, Christians have the Spirit of God who helps us understand the Word. Whilst unbelievers need to be quiet and listen and of course search the scriptures to verify what has been said.

You are right we are only human, some do misinterpret what they read, that is why one should rely on reading the bible themselves and being open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, not someone else's interperitation.

Pretty amazing, isn't it? No Pope or Patriarch ever claimed the authority to personally interpret the Bible.

Well considering the book they follow I suppose they would contradict themselves.
The Bible contradicts so in turn those following are going to be doing the same.
Good day to you.

You don't understand Christianity. It's not open for interpretation. It is what it is. Jesus Christ IS Lord, He IS the Son of GOD, and anyone who chooses to reject this truth WILL NOT enter Heaven when they leave this earth. Simple as that. Whether you accept it or reject it - it is what it is.
