Moving out to California within a month or so for work and was just curious about the drive between Orange County to San Bernardino area. I know traffic is horrible and this distance is more than most would want to deal with, but just curious about it anyways. If I were to do the moring commute around 5:30am, what kinda time am i looking at? I know the commute home is always going to be different and never quick.
Thanks

Thanks for the help...I know it's probably stupid, but do people make this drive at all out there or people that work in the inland empire, live there?

There is really only one way to go from Orange County to San Bernardino, and that is Ca-91. Fortunately for you, for about 1/2 of your trip you will be traveling the opposite direction of the worst of the traffic. Where you will begin to encounter heavy traffic is once you have passes the Ca-91 / I-15 interchange and begin to enter the city limits of Riverside. If you leave at 5:30 am you should easily be in San Bernardino in 1 1/2 - 2 hours or less. Again, on your homeward journey you will be traveling, for the most part, in the opposite direction of the heaviest traffic flow. Once you have made this trip a few times you can probably refine travel time to some degree.

I paintings in the OC and that i've got a coworker who lives in San Bernardino. while he drives, he spends approximately ninety minutes each and every way, every day, especially situations longer. especially situations, he leaves an old beater motor vehicle on the Metrolink lot in Irvine and drives that into the place of work, leaving it on the station at nights. He says that takes in simple terms as long yet is less complicated on the nerves. in spite of the indisputable fact that, myself, i might propose moving. I paintings on the comparable place and stay in the OC.

Yes, traffic is most always terrible at rush hour. But at 5:30 am you should be able to just zip along without any problems. 4 pm on will be crazy.
