This is the original question that Gerry should have just edited rather than begin a new one.

I answered your question in the first posting and as a follow up to this new question... it is a little selfish of you to not go just to make a stand. My grandmother did not go to my wedding last month because of a reason much more petty than yours... I opted to walk myself down the aisle because I have an awkward, at best, relationship with my father (her son). I don't think I can see her in the same way now that she did not show up and our relationship has been strained because of it. Go and be supportive. It is only one day and this is your family. Not going will only make the issues worse.

If this is in reference to your previous comment about your transgendered nephew, then can I suggest that you spend some time with them? Have you talked to them one-to-one since the op, or before the op?
From what you have written, you know that it's not right, but your dissaproval is what rips families apart. Get over your preconceived ideas and remeber that this member of your family needed our support as much as your sister. He has a whole life of bigotry and hatred ahead of him, without his own family adding to it.

Yes it is awful of you.

Either go, and support your sister and FAMILY...

Or don't go, and face the faces of hurt and disappointment that you did not go to your sister's sons wedding.
