You've fleed from fundamentalism and found all the holes in the ideas that God wrote the Bible and it never changes and applies to modern living. You love the message of Jesus but you can see how similar his message is with many non-christian predecesors. You look for a church where this is acceptable but you don't see anyone that really 'does it for you' but you need to find a group of people that help you grow as a person and where you can help others. What do you think of starting a new church?

Jeffries had me stumped for a minute so I did some research. 2 Tim. 3:1-6 sounds a lot like some preachers I've heard: boastful and proud, unloving and unforgiving, slandering others, cruel, acting religious while rejecting the power that would make them godly, taking advantage of vulnerable, guilt-ridden people..fools!" and then they grab all the power and money they can get. And the congregation follows them blindly into the pit. Jesus came to heal people and bring them closer to God. His religion was of the heart, no creed or theology or dogma. He wasn't into scaring people into worshipping him. His focus was on his father in heavan.

After leaving fundamentalism, I thought about forming my own denomination. However, I discovered that the Episcopal church (liberal side) is very close to what I believe in so I joined that.
They have been very good to me and my kids.
I'm not saying the Episcopal church is right for everyone, but before throwing in the towel and starting something new, look around at what is already available. There are many different denominations who have warmly taken in fundamentalist refugees.

A Church in my definition is a gathering place. People are very social beings and seek out companionship. All churches have a leadership. It is big business. Look at the Catholics. Through the ages the power of the church led Knights into wars and prevailed over Monachs. Nothing gets done or built without money. It has good and bad points. Religion is a government within a Governed people. I need not a church nor the need to dominate. Social life is neccessary and if it is found within a CHURCH, well, so much for that.
Without getting personal, your need for social recognition is very strong. Have you given Politics a review?.

One problemo: Jesus already established a Church, 2000 years ago. Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive until his return.
Among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus. Every other Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The Protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. (Most of today’s Protestant churches are actually offshoots of the original Protestant offshoots.) Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing. The line of popes can be traced back, in unbroken succession, to Peter himself. This is unequaled by any institution in history: Even the oldest government is new compared to the papacy.
The Catholic Church has existed for nearly 2,000 years, despite constant opposition from the world. This is testimony to the Church’s divine origin: Any merely human organization would have collapsed long ago. The Catholic Church is today the most vigorous church in the world (and the largest, with 1.3 billion members: one sixth of the human race), and that is testimony not to the cleverness of the Church’s leaders, but to the protection of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus’ Church is called catholic ("universal" in Greek) because it is his gift to all people. He told his apostles to go throughout the world and make disciples of "all nations" (Matt. 28:19–20). For 2,000 years the Catholic Church has carried out this mission, preaching the good news that Christ died for all men and that he wants all of us to be members of his universal family (Gal. 3:28). Nowadays the Catholic Church is found in every country of the world and is still sending out missionaries to "make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19). The Church Jesus established was known by its most common title, "the Catholic Church," at least as early as the year 107, when Ignatius of Antioch used that title to describe the one Church Jesus founded. The title apparently was old in Ignatius’s time, which means it went all the way back to the time of the apostles.

There is nothing wrong with the old. It is you who has the problem. The Bible speaks to every aspect of modern living. Jesus was put to death because His message was radical compared to His predecesors. There is something wrong with your doctrine.

I did not like to create a new or old church. I just want to find my inner true happiness and wisdom.
