Work hard on your work days. Give it all you've got! But enjoy your time off, and just relax. Don't take work home with you...don't think about work...don't talk about work. Separate the two! Get a hobby; get out of the house! Work out! Exercising is a great stress reliever...even if its just going for a jog, walking the dog, or bike ride. I love my bicycle rides!
I have worked several years in a very stressful environment, with 12 & 24 hr shifts, where breaks (i.e., food, bathroom) were NEVER guarenteed....(emergency medicine). So, I can tell you, if you can find ways to de-stress and relax on your days off, you will be able to go into work feeling much more rejuvinated, ready for the day ahead, and have a whole new attitude. Best wishes! Oh- and sleep! Don't feel guilty about catching up on sleep! Make sure you're getting enough rest and eating foods that natually boost energy. Being healthy & fit really do make a difference in your stamina no matter what you're doing.

What kind of rest? You can't exactly go to sleep on your lunch break. Why not work part time, that way you work some days and not others. Lots of time for rest, but you won't make as much money.

I have seen a number of articles that suggest you should rest if that feels good. Don't if you don't feel a need. But during the hottest part of the day.. a little cooling off is really, really good in hot areas.

Generally, a break in the afternoon is considered a very good idea.

yes! definitely..... when you work all day... for sure.... you're not considering the fact that you are human... you need to rest, relax and give some space for your personal life... find the reasons first why you need to work all day.... what if you become sick? if you work with rest... that means....you could work for a long period of time throughout your life.... whereas... if you work all day... you might end up being confined....and the sad news is.... what you've earned from working all day might not be enough for your hospital bills and expenses.... "don't haste on anything.... there is a time for everything".

There was a fad with management types in the 80s of "power napping". I don't think they found any improvement in their workforce.

I think a break is better, along with a decent lunch.

I think that workers with rest would be re-energized for the rest of their day.
