I'd like to live in a city with alot of outdoor activities to do, like hiking, biking, and maybe has walking trails. I've read that there's some near the mountains, so I'd love to live near the mountains. Having good shopping nearby would be a plus. I'd like to live in a city with about 100,000 people or less, so a good place would be a smaller city in the suburbs. If you can give me any info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Cairns is about 130,000 - very spread out. You have untold outdoors activities here, especially if you love the beach, the Great Barrier Reef is right on our doorstep.
Also home to the worlds oldest rainforests, ( The Daintree etc. You’ll never be bored here! http://welcometocairns.com.au/

A city with 100,000 people or less excludes all the capital cities. I think everywhere has outdoor opportunities, but whether the weather makes you feel like taking them up is another matter. You'd have to live in a large rural town to get good shopping, but you can live in one that has good enough shopping. I live in Bendigo, which has most things, but Melbourne is only 2 hours away so I can get anything else down there. We don't go down often, but it is a convenient enough possibility. Launceston is a nice town, you'd probably like that. However jobs are hard to come by in Tasmania. "A smaller city in the suburbs" doesn't make sense to me. The suburbs are part of the city. You'll probably enjoy living in a regional town more than you would living in the nice outer suburbs of one of the major cities. Like I said, it's 2 hours on the train from Bendigo to Melbourne, and it's about the same from Melbourne's outer most suburbs (which are about all anyone can afford these days) into the city. Australians tend to be very sport focused, so you won't find problems there. Even the smallest of towns has sporting groups. Email me if I can be any more help, especially if you move to Bendigo! It's a nice town, but doesn't really have mountains...

Personally I'd go with Perth or Adelaide. Sydney's pretty near the Mountains (the Blue Mountains) but I'm guessing you're looking for somewhere a bit smaller than that!

Brisbane is good. Has beaches an hour away either north or south. Has mountains for hiking, bike tracks, heaps of shopping centres and there are smaller cites around the outskirts of the main city.

Jindabyne is a small town of about 3,000 people near the Snowy Mts. In winter it has snowsports. In summer it has horse riding, hiking (it is next to Australia's largest national park) biking (downhill and cross country) whitewater rafting, kayaking and flatwater canoeing, rock climbing, sailing....
If that is too small, Cooma is an hour away with about 8,000 and Canberra about 2 hours away.

Geraldton W.A., Newcastle N.S.W., Lismore N.S.W.,
Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Bundaberg QLD, quite a few places that fit the bill.
