I was wondering when you eat pumpkin seeds are you supposed to eat the shell or just the middle? Like w/ sunflower seeds you just eat the seeds and spit the shell. What about pumpkin seeds?

You can eat the shell, or throw the shell away. It is what ever your preference is.

Eating them whole is more healthy for you.... But if the shell is really salty--that's not very good for you... It's really your preference. Sunflower seeds are easier to get out of the shell than pumpkin seeds. I think that's why most people eat the shell and the seed.

Well I just ate some pumpkin seeds actually. :) I put oil, salt and some spices on them. Everyone I know eats them whole.

Some varieties have a shell (husk) and some don't. I only buy or grow the shell-less ones. I'd think the shell wouldn't be very pleasant to eat.
