I think he has been flirting with me. But so far, that's all he does (trying to hug me, asking me to hand shake for no reasons, winks one eye to me), etc. What can I do to encourage him to be brave enough to ask me for a date?

Well you are obviously too shy to ask him yourself so perhaps somehow exchanging phone numbers would be an easier option..

How do you know him..work, gym??

Think of a way you can ask for advice about something and drop in the 'Can you call me later..?' routine..

If he's flirting with you as you've said he should oblige...

Good luck!!

p.s.. If all else fails pluck up the courage and ask him!!

If he is like me, he will like it that you express interest in him. Ask him to go out. He may turn into your husband.

My girlfriend asked me to get acquainted first. We met through eHarmony. She saw my profile and she sent me her request for communication. I saw her profile and I was very, very interested in her, we had so many things in common, healthy living, the arts, religion, age (she is 24 days older than me).

We started sending each other our questions and answers and we finished it in a few hours, so, we were BOTH very interested! We arranged to meet in two days as I was traveling through her town. We met for breakfast and then a week later, she had me over to her house for dinner. Then we went to the Symphony then a performance of live theatre, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

I am falling in love with the girl who took the initiative to contact me first!!

I hope you do ask him for a date and I hope he is a nice guy and I hope you two get married and live happily ever after!

Good luck!

Go for it!

You could say: "I wonder what is playing at the movies next Friday?" or, "What do you think of that new restaurant, XYZ...?" or, "I'd like to go to that new museum exhibit next week..." and see if he takes a hint?
