toogethr - true, but practically speaking there's no way to ever know why you weren't hired. Or fired.

I doubt that they would...it is assumed that we are immoral and evil. I am an atheist, and I am employed at a Christian organization...lol. They think I am a good person, but how that would change if they knew...

I believe atheists have morals, many have a better sense of morals than religious folks.

I am curious where atheists believe morals came from, or how they developed, barring God. It also really bothers me when folks say that morality is relative - actually, it scares me more than anything.

Religion or no religion = no difference between morality. Any other statement needs evidence. After all weren't there a high number of Mafia Church attenders, well as long as they prayed for those they shot, it must have been OK!

I am a Christian and I believe that many atheists have morals and an excellent work ethic.

***UPDATE***
Just because you go to Church or label yourself a "Christian" does not automatically mean you have high morals. Neither does one who labels him or herself "atheists" mean they have no morals.

I have met some atheists who have a higher moral standard then supposed "Christians."

I don't know a lot about what the disciples claimed a few generations afterwards what Jesus had said.
But, I'd assume, that since he seemed like a pretty nice guy, they might have included something about DISCRIMINATION in his words.

First, you have to prove what you are assuming, that Christians all have identical beliefs regarding atheists. Come back when you've done that fundamental necessity first, junior.

I'm sure that it is because the atheist had the best qualifications and experience to do the job.

My dear, I hate to burst your bubble, but in my experience, atheists have more morals than christians do. Atheists have to answer for themselves to themselves, whereas christians thing god will forgive them no matter what they do.

I'm an atheist and if this reason was used not to hire me I'd have me a good solid law suit on my hands.

I know this Christian Brothel keeper and he has no problems employing Atheist Hookers, though he does have a preference for Catholics, they tend to bring their own School uniforms
