I've received worse letters from people on here professing to be Christian.
If you ask me, the whole world has become more angry. Not just one group.
I proposed to have anger management become a required course of study starting in the middle schools.
The world is way too angry.

Why would you tell an atheist that his actions may lead him to the devil? Seriously, you know he doesn't believe in the devil. Is it arrogance or stupidity that prevents you from comprehending that not everyone believes as you do?

So in answer to your question, that particular atheist was probably angry because you were sending insulting and threatening emails. If you want a more precise answer, why not try asking poseiden_is_back directly rather than asking a bunch of strangers to speculate behind their back?

I'm an agnostic, but I'll answer anyway. I woke up one day and realized that the vast majority of humanity is fatally ignorant and probably stupid as well. I suspect that we won't be able to avoid destroying ourselves before evolving beyond this. It's sad, and it makes me mad. It's petty, but picking on people on Y!A gives me a laugh and stems the tide of sadness. Which means I'm no better than anyone else. Oh well. There's MY version.

I've read your posts and Poseiden was just telling you the truth, my dear.

You will be right next to us in hell, based on the fact that you are a jerk. In fact, I thought you were a troll based on a number of your questions and it really makes me sad that you truly live your life the way you do.

So back off Poseiden, since you obviously can't handle taking what you dish out.

Your good friend is right.

But if you want to know about the anger part of things, it is simple. No one wants to have another get into their face about going to hell, even if it doesn't exist. No one wants to hear about it, period.

Do I get angry when someone says something like this to me? Partially, but then I always remember the message they are preaching and how unreasonable it is. Then I am able to ease back into ignoring them again.

They are angry because religion makes some people so very mean and very stupid.

If you are going to call yourself a "x"tian warrior, you best be walking his steps. You shame his name. Try starting with that "Judge not..." line.

You were being an ***. He was right to call you that.

You hurl a vile and unjustified insult at someone based on your dogma and then you think it surprising that they get a little cross.

I think you need a little examination of the planks in your own eyes (there seem to be a lot of them) before you cast around for motes in the eyes of others.

You would get the same reply from me. When will you learn that saying what you said to him is insulting? You were the one in the wrong. You owe him an apology. You expect people to respect your beliefs, and then you insult theirs by saying something like that to someone who doesn't believe in your god or the devil. Your beliefs do not give you the right to insult people.

Why not ask that particular angry atheist? He's the fellow from whom you'll get the most accurate response. Everyone else will just be speculating.

You tell him he's going to hell, and then are peeved when he gives it back at you?

The only way in which this could possibly be unfair is if you're right and he's wrong. You assume that's the state of things, and make no allowances for his opposite opinion.
