Icons form old deleted programs keep popping up in my taskbar quickstart field...I have tried everything. I have no clue where the taskbar is pulling the icons from. what is the folder called? could it be pulling them off the network? If so I cant find the source.

okey this looks like an issue with your system registry.
Download CCleaner and fix your registry and restart your computer. If it works let us know :-)

Try holding Alt while dragging the icon up to the desktop. Sometimes it asks "move here"? You can click Yes and delete from the desktop.

Hold the left mouse button down on the icon and drag it onto your desktop, then delete it.
