i have lots of quarters from the year 1940-1945. Are these worth anything? thanks

Look similar items up on E-bay - Exceptional quarters that are graded and look like they have never been circulated are going for around $30-$40. Most seem to be auctioning off at around face value or if anything, $2 over face.

You should just hang on to them and pass them down to your kids. I think most if not all quarters minted at that time are high percentage silver so def. worth saving.

Most of those, depending on mint mark, quality and condition are worth about 2 bucks a piece just for the metal, if they are American. I would go get a book that will help you evaluate the coins. Sort out the good/valuable ones and the junk...then bulk out the junk to a coin shop. Put the others up for an auction, like maybe eBay. That way you can get closer to book value. Coin shops will add all of them together, then evaluate them on value and split that in half and make you a cruddy offer.

yes, most of them are worth .25 cents.
