I just got my anual flu shot yesterday and now I'm getting a cold....it always starts with a sore throat, goes away the next day and then comes back with a vengence. Just curious as to if this has ever happened to you. I know you can get sick (of some sort) after you get the shot but I don't know if it's just a common cold or if it's related to the shot. Thanks in advance for your answers!

To show cold-like symptoms afterwards is a normal process of the flu shot as you have been injected with the flu to strengthen your immune system against more serious strains.

nope. The flu shot can not cause a cold, the flu or influenza. You had the virus at least 5 days before the symptoms appeared. I work in a hospital and had to go through a seminar about the flu shot or mist. Had mine yesterday and recommend it to any one expecially if you around the elderly and small children. Children may also get the flu shot.

They say its a coincidence because they inject you with a dead virus.

All I know is the ONE time I got a flu shot, a week later I had to be hospitalized with the worst flu ever.

Horrible coincidence? Maybe. But I have never gotten another one.

Make you wonder sometimes if the medical people are above board with their claims. Vaccines have been linked to autism and other diseases, flu shots have been linked to actually bringing on colds and the flu, etc.

I got cold symptoms right after the pain went away in my arm.

no what is in the injection is inactive so cannot make you develop symptoms. here in the east a wicked upper respiratory thing has been going around like crazy - may just be a coincidence!

I'm pretty sure that when they give you the shot, they actually give you the virus, with some type of vaccine, so that your immune system can fight it, and develop antibodies.
