Make peanut butter play-dough. Use peanut butter and powdered milk and mix it until it has the consistency of play-dough. When your child is through playing with it, he/she can eat it.
Make some shelf games. When I taught pre-school, I made up some folders and show boxes with activities inside. They were great for rainy days. For example, you can have a folder where the object is to put the same colors together (use red, blue and yellow circles, squares and triangles made out of construction paper). You can also have lace up cards and such.
You can have a cooking project. Get some instant jello and let your child stir it until it is ready to eat. There's no risk of getting burned since it's instant pudding. You could also make english muffin pizzas. Let your child take a spoon and get some sauce to spread on the muffin. Then let him/her sprinkle some mozarella cheese on top and then add a few slices of pepperoni or hot dog slices. You put it in the oven and get it out when it's ready. You can also have him/her make trail mix. Set out bowls of raisins, Cheerios (or other dry cereal), mini-marshmallows, banana chips, etc and let him/her put some of each into a bowl or plastic baggie.
Schedule a time for a movement activity. I had this record with older songs on it like "Hands Up" and we made motions to go with the words. When we couldn't go outside because of the weather, we'd play the record and dance!
Always have a story time when it's raining. It's a great way to settle down before nap time.
Hope these suggestions help!

Play dough can be made out of stuff most people have in their cupboards. 1 cup flour 1 cup warm water 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon oil 1/4 cup salt food coloring Mix all ingredients, adding food coloring last. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove from pan and knead until blended smooth. Place in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled. Will last for a long time. I have made it before without the cream of tartar because I didn't have any still worked fine. If that doesn't work try colouring and drawing its always good to have new fridge decorations.

Well, rainy does are no fun around here either. But we make them. First off, get dressed up in rain gear and go outside and splash int he puddles together. What's more fun than that? If you have to stay inside there are tons of things to do.
Any 2 year old loves arts and crafts. Glue noodles to paper, glue anything to anything, they love it. Practice motor skills and lace fruit lookps on string to make a necklace or bracelet in your case. Make your own story up and write the workds and color the pictures for it. For lunch, have a picnic on the floor with a tablecloth and basket. Tons of fun. Play with shaving cream, which is good for you cause it cleans while they play. Any dress up and acting is fun. Make puppets with socks or paper bags or anything. THere are tons of things to do on rainy days.
Also you can get a box, buy a few things from the store. Maybe include a special game and tons of special things you can only play with if it's rainy outside. It'll be more fun than you think.

You should go out and buy a special "rainy day" toy or activity. Let them know that it is only to be brought out on "rainy days." This way they are excited to be able to play with something they do not usually get to.
I went out and bought a few child friendly board games for my daughter. Now every time it rains she doesn't forget to tell me that it is game day.

no tv. make that the last resort =]. I would make some fun healthy snacks in the kitchen with my little one, have coloring time, or go over some things like abc's and 123's or shapes and colors. Do some house hold chores together or do some organizing. Reading to your baby may also be fun. Good luck!

You could make handprint shirts, like with finger paint. Or you could make some halloween things to decorate your house with. Or just dress up in your halloween outfits and play around for a bit!!

get her favorite toys out and play with them...you can also bake cookies letting her help you with pouring ingredients into the bowl and stirring...she might surprise you and be quite the little baker...my mother told me, i was helping her when i was that age, so i always include my niece when it's time to bake cakes or cookies...she has always loved it...she's 5 now and still loves to help in the kitchen...

Any sort of arts and crafts!
Or you can make cookies together (if you don't mind the clean up) - it is so much to get on their level or pull a chair for them to stand on and let them "help"!
Then when they nap you can clean it all up!

Make cookies or a cake. My daughter loves to help me bake. Also try hide and seek with toys. You can do anything, just make it a game.
