When I was 17, my teacher of literature asked me and my friend to substitute her for one lesson for the 12 year old kids. We agreed, and most of the kids didn't listen to us, but there was one guy, who was very sweet: behaved really well, and did all what we asked him to do. In a couple of days he came up to us and gave us a chocolate each as a present. Then he ran away because he was too shy:) Now, after 5 years we meet, and he still remembers me. He's grown up, really handsome and as nice as he used to be:) I feel a soft spot for him now...Weird?:)

Some of these people on here are a little abusive!

Well in britain you are both consenting adults so there is nothing wrong about it.

The only thing that you may find with this age gap, is that you might want different things - especially as it tends to be guys that take longer to mature than girls (in most cases not always!). But as you get older the age gap won't feel so extreme.

Go with what you feel chick x

My brother is five years younger then my sister in law and they are happily married with a daughter and a son on the way. I don't think it's weird, in fact it's really sweet. Just remember that if you have a relationship with this guy you need to be careful until he's of age because there could be trouble if his parents aren't happy with him dating an older woman. Good luck!

Not only weird but illigal, of course that will depend on what your intentions are, and keep in mind, their is a huge maturity gap between 17&22, this guy while he may seem mature for his age,he is not! He is 17, still a kid! And what 17 year old kid isnt attracted to a older woman, so if I were you Id re-think my feelings for this boy, use your brain, not your hormones! Because, you are the adult here, just like 5 years ago! And if this were my son, I,d tell him to tell you to back off and find someone your own age! And why is it ok for a woman to chase a 17 year old but if we see a man chasing a 17 year old girl we freak? Thiers no difference, so just leave the kid alone!

no its not weird but, you should keep in mind that just like he has changed over the past 5 years he will change over the next 5 years. so it would be wise not to get too serious with him because he may change into someone you dont want to be with in the future. but of course it never hurts to stays friends for a while and see where things go from there

Keep this fact in mind, OK? Girls mature much faster than do boys. So ..... This 17 y/o is so far behind you, in maturity that it is ridiculous! I'm not saying that women shouldn't become involved with men who are younger than they. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't be messing with an immature teenager. In the first place you will be violating the statutory rape law! Think about it!

But at the same time he can brag to all his teenie-bopper friends that he is doing a real woman!

The age difference shouldn't be too much of a problem, but the fact that you knew him when he was a kid could be, might end up almost treating him the same way you did back then, and then it's bye bye to any chance of a relationship.
