Is it only me and the other male nurses very interested in nursing career? Is it bad for male to become nurse or actually there is other reasons which I don't know? Please state the reasons. Thank you. :).

I married a nurse. :)
Neither is better or worse. Really, your gender doesn't matter. Your ability to do your job is not decided by your genitals.
I think men are probably not attracted to our profession because it is traditionally a female-dominated one.
I, personally, welcome men to the nursing field. Women sometimes hesitate to stick up for themselves with Administration and I think a few men in the mix might help that.
Good luck and best wishes.

I have no problem with male nurses. My father is one. I had an instructor who used to be a nurse. He said that when he took the classes he was the only one in the program. He had a job offer by the time his second year started because he was in demand. My father is retired now but he still gets calls all of the time asking if he would like to do on-call work for the local hospitals. I should clarify that most nurses get offers just usually not that far in advance of completion.

Neither is better, they are just in demand. Most medically related careers are right now.

There is no difference between a male/ female nurse in the United States. We are both trained the same and do the exact same job. More men should get into this career. There is much room to climb the sucess ladder in nursing.

Female nurse is in high demand since people imagine them as being hot nurses...
But male nurses tend to be more practical...

John S- Thanks for being completely ignorant. As a male considering going into nursing, i know a girl already taking the prereqs who i dont doubt can do the job every bit as well, probably better, than I would be able to. Shut up about guys being smarter, thats bogus.

Neither is better, but all the male nurses I have ever met seem to have a more gentle approach. They seem a lot happier in their jobs than their female counterparts.

Gender doesn't determine wether you are a good nurse or not. I think we need more male nurses.

Male nurses are more in demand because they are able to do heavier lifting. All nurses have my respect.

I don't see why not or any reason not to do it... most families what the "DR." title on their son's name but helping society either way is a plus... Yes there are not that many that do that and it is a shame because there are elderly fathers out there that need a bud to talk too....

Which one is better??? depends on the person... either way you need to be caring... that is all that matters...

Good luck
