I have never caught on to the practice of taking notes on a computer. When I'm taking notes in a class, my writing is more free form then any computer program will allow me to capture. I write things down, draw pictures, go back and annotate notes with arrows linking concepts, all sorts of non-"word processing" type things.

If I had a tablet PC with a "scribble pad" application (basically something that allows me to just jot with the stylus like I would in a notebook) that would be my preferred method. Short of that, I'll just leave the laptop in my book bag and take out a good old-fashioned paper notebook.
