believing in the things that are "out of the realm of thinking"..such as the rapture..such as God, being born into flesh from a virgin. These things take Faith ..and trust in God to believe. Instead of searching for ways to twist the scriptures to make these beliefs seem unreasonable..Why not search the scriptures and pray to be shown the truth? I realize it take faith to believe what you do as well..But, in some of the answers I read from JW's..I get the feeling that they think these beliefs of other Christians are "unreasonable" and foolish..Just something I was thinking about and wondering about your feelings on this.

Well..You see..I have been really reading both Bibles..NWT and KJV and several others as well..And what I am finding , is that the NWT..makes is easy to NOT believe what other Christians believe..and the other Bibles..such as KJV and others..Make is so easy and simple to believe in other beliefs such as the trinity and rapture. So, I guess it depends on what Bible you read and study? I agree..the Bible and its message is simple..once you just read it and pray..It gets more and more simple...

Moises..The fact that you can show me these things..does not mean you have the truth..No disrespect intended to you or any JW's. I just see so many difference and how its easy to believe one thing or another..depending on the Bible you are reading..Why..if you can show me the same things in a KJV..do JW's have their own bible..Why not use the modern day KJV? that way you could avoid much misunderstanding about your beliefs from others..

I understand what you are getting at with the Angels and son's of God. I have thought long and hard on the beliefs of Michael as Jesus..I just think that the ultimate sacrifice for God to give to us..would be for him to plant his seed into Mary..for him to be born into flesh..to know what it is really like to be a human..to show us just how much he can understand us..just how much he does love us..To give his Son..being through him..part of HIM.(..just as my son would be Part of me.)..wow..what a beautiful and powerful thing that is for God to do..It just seems more reasonable to me..for God to do that kind of Sacrifice than to Create his Angle Michael..and send him to earth as Jesus..Understand what I am saying?
Again..Please do not think that I am being disrespectful to your religion. I am only asking things of interest to me..

But..are JW's really getting the word out about God's Kingdom by going door to door? I don't think they are..How many people listen to what they say?..Very few...Any religion can go door to door ..and preach ..but, that would not make what they are saying the truth..Getting the good new of God's Kingdom spread is being done by Christian world wide..Not by JW's alone..

So..if another religion would start going door to door..preaching as JW's are trying to do..Then what would that mean?..It would mean nothing..It would not make that particular religion the true religion.

achtung...Maybe I shouldn't have wrote twist the scriptures..sorry about that..I just keep remembering a scripture that I have read over and over about that..and I have always wondered..who or what religion or people would that be describing..I just find that the NWT is different that the others..but, who am I to say it is the wrong one..I don't know..I really just don't know.

moises....How does one have a son? How does a baby get into the woman in the first place? Think about it..He gave us his son..HIS SON..Not his angel...not his firstborn of all creation..as what you will tell me..But, his son..right?

Moises_F... I am trying to figure this all out..I am not saying I know for certain..I am trying to figure it out. But, it is foolish to just believe something because someone told me that is what it means...It is something to be studied and researched..

by Moises..Your point about Moses is a good one. I can appreciate it..and understand it..But, that point can be turned around and focused on you..and your beliefs..So many are trying to tell you..and others..but, you are not listening..not believing..not understanding and not making sure of what others are telling you as what the Bible says..and teaches. JW's do not annoy me..I like to know what they believe and how they come about their beliefs.

Moises....says.....With that you are telling me "Moises the bible lies when says that angels are sons of God, they aren´t so forget about Job 1:6 and 2:1, and forget that Jesus is the firstborn of all creation , erase of your mind the book of Colossians 1:15 and Revelation 3:14 and Micah 5:2, Forget about that Moises"

Why do you put these words into my mouth? I didn't say anything even remotely close to that..I know angels are sons of God..did I say they were not?
NO.

well, since you bring it up, let's talk about "foolishness" and what God says about it, shall we?

1 Cor. 1: 18--For the preaching OF THE CROSS is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.

1 Cor. 1: 25--Because the foolishness of God is wise than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men

1 Cor. 2: 14--But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.

and, last, but not least . . .

1 Cor. 3: 19--For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

Jehovah's Witnesses do believe that Jesus is the Son of the Living God and that we can only get atonement for our sins through the pouring out of Jesus blood. We believe that he was resurrected three days after he died, but did not ascend to heaven until 40 days after this death, where upward of 500 saw him ascend to heaven. What is the point of your question? Why didn't you just say, who convented from Jehovah's Witnesses to believe in the Trinity?

The NWT is a travesty, not a Bible. It has been twisted to fit the doctrines of the Watchtower society. Words have been ommitted and added to suit their teaching, mostly to detract from the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Two of the most obvious are John 1:1 which reads 'the word was God' in all other versions, and 'the word was A god' in the NWT'; also Colossians 1:16, which in most versions reads 'by means of him where ALL things created' and in the NWT says 'all OTHER things created' implying that Jesus was created by God. They cannot pray and search the scriptures themselves because, as Unsilenced Lamb has correctly said, this is spiritual suicide, they are taught that only the faithful and discrete slave can correctly interpret scripture and so many do not even try. Happily, I did, I prayed to Jehovah God to show me the truth and guess what, he did! It was not anything like the 'truth' of the NWT. Now I am a free Christian and able to worship 'in freedom and in truth'.

Oh, and Lisa, Emerit is Moises and Superman (of many colours)

Faith is important, however knowledge is as well.

As Christians we don't "searching for ways to twist the scriptures to make these beliefs seem unreasonable".

A paramount responsibility of ALL who are Christian is to study the Bible.

It amazes me how quickly someone will jump to claim Bible tampering when someone says they believe differently, but at the same time, these same ones, claim that I should be open to other's believing differently.

UL, there's an article in the Toronto Globe n Mail, Sat May2. The jw author [at that time] was abused by her own elder father as young as 4 or 6 yrs old. I am not proud as catholic, cus our unmarried priests are also guilty. But it is beyond my understanding that a married man with beautiful daughters, would abuse his won daughter. I guess typical of the Jw, who have 23,720 molestation cases.

You are correct. I spent 22 years as a witness, and A christian Pastor finally got me to actually look Biblical at the Dogma believed by the Witnesses.

When you take a real Bible and read it in context, witness dogma falls apart, Quickly, I might add.

Because of Limitations that the Witnesses impose on you from early indoctrination, I was terrified to question what I was taught by them. they tell you, that to question what you are taught, is an unforgivable sin, and you can put yourself at odds with God and never be forgiven for it.

It is Spiritual suicide for a Witness to go against the governing Body. To really examine what you are taught against Christian Apologetics, will get you disfellowshipped.

Other Churches have nothing to hide, and open their doctrine to deep research. The WBTS does not do that, they use scare tactics, and the removal of friends and family to keep you in line...Definitely, a cult...I have been there and I know from the catastrophic loss of family and the years it took me to become whole again spiritually.

The NWT is the first Bible that changes the texts of the manuscripts to support unchristian dogma. You are correct in saying that they twist the scriptures. Do not make apologies for being Accurate.

Moises. Superman? Emerit....and how ever many accounts you have..NO ONE CARES! Whether I wrote that or not..There are people here who think I should have you arrested for stalking me, so post your little letter where ever you wish, you are just exposing your own mental illness, and it doesn't matter to me.

To Lisa and all who are watching..I was violently abused and tortured by my father Who is a Jw elder, and still in good standing with his congregation....Moises and superman and Emerit..and who ever the he!! he is has brought my abuse and my name out in the open for all to see, and has put me in danger from the very people who abused me so violently....At one time i got upset at him and wrote the letter that he keeps posting for all to see....I have since decided that I do not care, because God will protect me if he choses and I will place my future in his hands and let him decide what happens to me....the fact that this Mor@n keeps stalking me and refuses to leave me alone, reminded e of how my father use to abuse me and force himself on me....so that being sed. i am fine and God is in charge, as always and idiots on YA will always be idiots and there is nothing I can do about it.....Moises...get some help, you are abusive stalker and need to see a therapast.

Typical Witness move, reabuse , I am use to it by now.

It has to be supported by Scripture.

It can't be "well, I think it means,"
or "I think it's referring to," kind of deal.

No, either it is in the Bible or it isn't.
This faith you are referring to had Got to be based on truth,
or else how can we come to know, love & serve our God.

When I first ever started reading a Bible,
I did not know that I should have been
praying for Insight, Discernment.
And yet, I came to a reasonable conclusion that:
Jehovah~~being the name of God, and
Witnesses~ meaning to tell others what you know, then
Jehovah's Witnesses are telling others what they know
about the one true God.
And I was reading out of 1 of those little pocket size of the Christian-Greek Scriptures. Usually, brown or orange.
Ppl sometimes give them as gifts,
in pink or blue, for a newborn.

Funny question I feel the same about other christian religions ?
You know the JW's use scripture in a logical way that really makes sense. The bible is so simple.
I do not see how others can not understand what the bible says , but then again the bible states Satan has blinded the eyes of the unbeliever.

2007-10-18 02:08:28 · answer #8 · answered by pestie58 the spider hunter 6 · 4 4

Faith is, therefore, the basis for hope and the evidence for conviction concerning unseen realities. The entire body of truths delivered by Jesus Christ and his inspired disciples constitutes the true Christian “faith.” (Joh 18:37; Ga 1:7-9; Ac 6:7; 1Ti 5:8) Christian faith is based on the complete Word of God, including the Hebrew Scriptures, to which Jesus and the writers of the Christian Greek Scriptures frequently referred in support of their statements.

Faith is based on concrete evidence. The visible creative works testify to the existence of an invisible Creator. (Ro 1:20) The actual occurrences taking place during the ministry and earthly life of Jesus Christ identify him as the Son of God. (Mt 27:54; see JESUS CHRIST.) God’s record of providing for his earthly creatures serves as a valid basis for believing that he will surely provide for his servants, and his record as a Giver and Restorer of life lends ample evidence to the credibility of the resurrection hope. (Mt 6:26, 30, 33; Ac 17:31; 1Co 15:3-8, 20, 21) Furthermore, the reliability of God’s Word and the accurate fulfillment of its prophecies instill confidence in the realization of all of His promises. (Jos 23:14) Thus, in these many ways, “faith follows the thing heard.”—Ro 10:17; compare Joh 4:7-30, 39-42; Ac 14:8-10.

So faith is not credulity. The person who may ridicule faith usually has faith himself in tried and trusted friends. The scientist has faith in the principles of his branch of science. He bases new experiments on past discoveries and looks for new discoveries on the basis of those things already established as true. Likewise, the farmer prepares his soil and sows the seed, expecting, as in previous years, that the seed will sprout and that the plants will grow as they receive the needed moisture and sunshine. Therefore faith in the stability of the natural laws governing the universe actually constitutes a foundation for man’s plans and activities. Such stability is alluded to by the wise writer of Ecclesiastes: “The sun also has flashed forth, and the sun has set, and it is coming panting to its place where it is going to flash forth. The wind is going to the south, and it is circling around to the north. Round and round it is continually circling, and right back to its circlings the wind is returning. All the winter torrents are going forth to the sea, yet the sea itself is not full. To the place where the winter torrents are going forth, there they are returning so as to go forth.”—Ec 1:5-7.

They have to twist and turn the original Scripture around for it to fit better to their false message. By doing so they totally miss the wonderful personal relationship with our Savior -God,Jesus.

The organization has blinded them to think that they are following the truth. Jesus warned about the false Prophets for a reason. This is it.
