I'd like to put attention to another section of Yahoo Answers - "Social Sciences => Psychology".

There people get along fine. The amount of trolls is minimal, (if any at all), and the atmosphere is friendly and cozy.

How come R&S can't be like that?

I think most Christians on R&S need "Psychology" more than they need "Religion & Spirituality"

look a the topics! religion is one of the most conversationalist like politics some things to avoid if your trying to impress..

seems to me everyone here is to busy throwing there ideas and faith and just can't accept the fact that there are more options then 1 faith...

so i can see that
with psychology it's science mostly based off fact unlike religion! that is based of faith and some books like a bible or book of shadows or whatever!

that and people think when you attack there religion or question it that it's a personal attack against them. that's how close people are with there faith..
nothing wrong with that but some humans deliveries could be adjusted to meet the needs of less judgemental ways!

then other on her are just looking to arguee!

Because its religion. There are two things in the world that are sure to cause a fight. One is religion, the other is politics. Thats why you're told not to bring up either one in polite conversation when you're growing up. Though apparently the Christians didn't get the memo.

As already stated; psychology is a less personal, more detached issue.

After just looking at the psychology section I was forced to see that it was really less about psychology and more about problems and opinions.

Because religion, or the lack there of, is deeply held and personal and we are all human, willing to defend our beliefs even at the cost of looking like jackasses.

Perhaps because Psychology is a science and not associated with a religious belief or lack thereof?

Give them Scientologists and they won't be like that either.

Religious belief is a contentious topic. It's part of the allure of the R&S section.

Edit: 2pts4u has a very valid point! LOL...

because religion happens to be a very touchy subject, and everyone has their own personal beliefs, therefore there is a lot of disagreement, and with that disagreement comes controversy, and a whole lot of arguing. god bless.
