The reason we cant agree is because we cant totally deny the idea of a greater being. Science can only trace things back so far and explain things so far, even they still have many unanswered issues. As a fellow non believer - my issue isn't so much believing in the fact that a God Like Being exists - it is the words or religions formed around them. All religious documents were written by MAN and they were written in a time before SCIENCE as a way to explain things we just couldn't comprehend. Religion was used as a form of social control, tell people Someone will kill them or make life miserable for all eternity if they are not good people and 80% of them will do there best to be good people.
Life on earth may just be a cosmic joke, or it could be by some greater design but either way religious texts were written by man - when God pops down and hands me a Bible then I will not only believe in a greater being but also believe in his religion.

People will never agree, as a whole, that there is no god, for two reasons:
1. People are scared. Terrified of being alone in the universe. Terrified that when they die, they're gone. Terrified that they'll never see their loved ones who've already died again. In the face of all that they'll believe anything that gives the remotest chance of the tiniest hope that there is more.
2. People are stupid. Not everyone has critical thinking skills. Not everyone can tell when a story is just a story.
Side note: Love that "baptist" above decided to correct your English. Baptist, "your" is possessive. You meant "you're", which is a contraction. Let he who is without grammatical sin cast the first stone.

Because some of us cannot in good conscience ignore the evidence of God.
And I won't even ask atheists to apologize for the genocide of over 100 million people in the last century perpetrated by atheistic leaders of various countries; Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, etc. etc.
And if you knew anything about Christianity, you would know that it was prophesied there would be false Christs and false Christianities that would do great evils in the name of God.
So maybe you should apologize for your ignorance.

dude even science agree's that there has to be a creator i.e a god which is running things so smoothly and the chances of humans evolving by themselves is nil. Science beleives in god it just eliminates the models of god i.e jesus,Allah, ram,Buddha etc..

Because until the vast majority of the Earths population elevate themselves above the level of primitive, superstitious tribesmen, the enlightened will remain in the minority.

You'd need to show me proof, since you're making the claim. Just as a theist would have to offer me proof for "God exists."
I still don't believe, but I'm not silly enough to make a universal claim without evidence. The fact that there is no evidence makes either claim completely ridiculous.

With luck and decent education, it has to happen or humanity will never survive.
It's tantalisingly close, because at present we have more than enough evidence to show this is the case, but people don't, won't, can't or just refuse to examine the data.

If everyone agreed, then there'd be no debate, and the world would be boring. Come on, don't you enjoy the debate, the contact with other viewpoints, the spark of intellectual conflict and detente based on the agreement to disagree? I, for one, would not impose my thought system on everyone else just for the sake of consensus. If you do it, you're just as bad as the ones you take to task for it.

Why can't we all just agree that God IS real, and Jesus DID die for our sins? See, it works both ways. Besides I and millions of others know God is real. We know you can't help it if sadly, you can't grasp the concept of God.

Real Christian's haven't done anything to you in the last 1500 years. People who say they are Christian's certainly have done things, but anyone can make the claim.
