The personal experience of God is often cited as proof of His existence. ("I know God exists because I have felt him in my heart")
So, here's my question, can you give three examples of experiences that people have honestly felt that have turned out to be mistakes, misinterpretation or simply imaginary?
I'll give you my three:
Racing to the hospital after experiencing a heart attack, only to find out you never had one (maybe it was gas or a cramp)
Reporting a UFO sighting to the newspaper, only to find out later it was a hot air ballons or swamp gas.
Scared out of your wits from a creaking noise in the attack, only to find out later it was an open window and a gust of wind.

I wasn't asking for examples that you yourself have experience, but simply examples of experiences others might have had that was misinterpreted... sorry for the confusion. In other words, I was asking you to THINK

I understand you question, but you need to understand, once you have heard the voice of God, you will not be mistaken.

I understand where you're coming from. Here's the problem ...
An atheist cannot grasp the concept of God, let alone be touched by God, because we're talking about a spiritual experience. The three you mentioned are all earthly experiences which affected some or all of the five senses.
A spiritual experience begins with trusting in God. It is, as they say, a leap of faith. Once you've accepted that God does exists, that there is life after death and that there is a heaven and hell, it would seem logical that you would want to live your next life in heaven. That would then take trusting in Jesus for your salvation. Only then can you have the gift of the Holy Spirit, which will open the door to these God experiences people talk about.
True, there are those who do not believe in the God of the bible who claim to have had God experiences. They have been deceived by the greatest liar of all time, satan, who is quite adept at tricking some into believing there is more than one way to experience God.

I think I have an answer close to what you are looking for. I sometimes get an old song in my head then turn on the radio to hear it playing. I haven't heard it on the radio for years. There is NO possible way I could have known it was playing. I begin to think it may be a sign from above until I realize that given the number of years I am alive, the number of times I turn on the radio, etc., statistically, these coincidences must occur sometimes. Yet our romantic, emotional minds want to believe otherwise. Or, I'm just stubborn and waiting for God to hit me between the eyes!

My son is my personal miracle. I don't know how anyone can look into the eyes of a child and say that miracles don't exist. It's even more miraculous that so many children are born healthy. It's mind-boggling to realize how many things could easily go wrong in the womb. My uncle is another miracle. He had a rare and severe form of cancer that spread through his entire body before it was discovered. All of his organs were affected and every bone in his body had hairline fractures. He was given two weeks to live. That was four years ago. Thank God.

the man racing to the hospital was able to pick his kids up from school on the way home and spend an extra 5 minutes with them. an unemployed man picked up a newspaper to read about the ufo, and then flipped to the classifieds where he found a job. by going to the attic to close the window you found an old photo album, and decided to call your mom and tell her you loved her...whats the point of all this?
everything happens for a reason, and God is in control of it all. just because the experience may not have felt "real" to someone, the results can be quite different for someone else.

yes i have many times
i remember before i got born again i used to sat pastors push people to fall and so forth
and that day as the pastor was preaching i felt like somebody had told him about me, because he was talking to and about me.
and then he made an altar call and i decide not to raise my hand say god will save me where i was.
but as he called people infront i found my spirit fighting with my flesh. i don't know how it happened but i fon't myself infront and i even fell without anybody touching me and then i woke up in the couseling room. there i saw a vision god showed me that i need to part of the couseling team and that i need to leave engineering and go study psychology because i need to touch peoples lifes.
all of this was god's doings

When you can connect with the Gaea (Gaia), the Earth's Spirit, then you will experience as about as close to feeling the "Love" of a Diety..
All you have to do is be somewhere connected to nature, and you will feel it all around you and then you think about all the indoctrination you have had, what do you believe ?
Blessed Be.. )O(

Of course yes. And I am enjoying the benefits. But the God I believe in and experience is the one I have pictured in my own vision and I believe it is all powerful and is the nucleus of the Universe.
