Rona,
1. Most strong governments throughout the history of the earth have had a ruler (of some sort) with some powers. Whether they are/were called King/Queen, emperor, majesty, president, pharoah or other such designation(s). According to the Bible such "rulers" were placed there by GOD and are to be given respect by HIS People.
2. There have always been people who do not respect the rights of others and have attempted to take charge of wealth and property that did not belong to them. It is necessary to have LAW so that these people have someone to answer to and for courts to be set up or judges to be appointed to take care of such matters.
3. GOD'S HOLY WORD tells us that we are to "give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's". We are supposed to obey man's laws as well as GOD'S WORD, the BIBLE. HE expects us to set an example for others to follow and be CHRIST-LIKE. This requires us to obey the laws and to respect the rights beliefs of others.
4. Have a wonderful day and a glorious weekend!
Thank YOU,
Eds

1, There are many different forms of government, most have a single leader, but governments that institute "checks and balances" tend to be less repressive and more aware of human rights.
2. Law is needed for a society to function. However there are few, if any, global laws.
3. No. Laws enforcing a given moral system are wrong.

The roots of our law was Common Law (essentially biblical law plus some common sense). We the people once governed ourselves based on this common law. We've dumped the God of the bible and we are now ruled by man's law which is no law at all.

As bad as it is here, the rest of the world is far worse off.

The rallying cry during the American Revolution was "no king but King Jesus." That was a time when believers were willing to stick their necks out for the Kingdom. Today God is still our King, but only in our hearts, our homes and our churches. Publicly, we are as atheist as the rest of society.

No laws, do what you want, liberty of life and freedom.
But one day, you notice that your neighbourg goes too far or that a member of the NRA has killed your child,... and you will react but how except murder or a baseball bat ?

The liberty of each ends when the liberty of others begins

The most you believe in the laws of God, the more you hate humans so religious fundamentalists are ennemies of equity and adapts the Parole to their meaning, not to the truth and justice.

I live in France and, in spite of Pdt Sarkozy'ideas, we have no real religious troubles ans no racial hate like in main societies believing than God is Law, like Iran, Pakistan, India, USA,...
And WHICH GOD or perception of God will you apply ?

1) We lived without law or president before these were invented. It was every man for himself, but we seem to have survived.
2) see 1)
3) No and no, unless by 'our' you mean religious people, which begs the question, why should you get separate laws?

are you saying that without god there would be no law? what a load of crap. most western countries have a secular government. i live in new zealand and religion has never once played a role in law and politics here. you can still have ethics and morals if your an atheist.

a) chaos
b) chaos
c) we will be judged by the laws of the Bible on judgment day. sadly, no country on earth enforces the laws of the bible as social law (this is what a theocracy does). God is our king, but in Romans he also says to respect those in authority over you and abide by their laws. but if you live by God's laws, you should be able to follow all of the laws here.

It would be hectic.
It all sounds good and well in theory, much like communism, but when applied to real people in real situations, it will crumble like something else that crumbles (i am not great with metaphors)

Sounds like fun.

Law is the skeleton of society. Without law, society would collapse.... and individual rule and values would dictate the course of human fate.

For individualist sorts like myself..... anarchy would be bliss.

Loss of the Internet would be a shame though.
