I really don't get why Christians assume that their god is so vain that doubting his existence is such a huge abomination.

Seriously, why would this god send people to hell for eternal suffering just for having rational doubt?

Your god sends NO evidence to show that he exists... so would he really care if people are skeptical and using science and reason to come to their conclusions?

And anyway, if we are skeptics.. aren't we just using the brain that YOUR god gave us?

So people go to hell for thinking... why?

You're absolutely right to have doubts. All forms of religion are no more than man's historical attempts to figure out where we come from and what our place in the universe is. Fortunately, modern science has given us many of the answers we have been looking for and the need for a 'God' or other such creator is no longer necessary. Indeed, the great Stephen Hawking has proved that even if there was a God, he would be unemployed, as all life, matter and energy is caused by the laws of physics, naturally and without the need for a guiding hand.

The real qustion is "why do people still choose to follow religion, when they have been shown to be utterly irrelevant to the observable truth?" The fact is, human beings are, as a whole, lazy and stupid, and it is because of this that they continue to practise their backward and primitive beliefs, and are unable and unwilling to accept their own naiviety and will protest strongly and sincerely in the face of the overwhelming evidence in exactly the same way as a child with chocolate all over its face might say "i didn't eat the chocolate cake!"

The short answer is - look at the evidence and make up your own mind. Based on the actual evidence available, even a Texas jury could figure it out. Probably.

I think God expects us to doubt. He made everything explainable by science, evolution, Quantum Physics, the development of Earth into a planet. But He also created everyday miracles. Sometimes, things happen that can't be explained. Someone is miraculously cured by cancer when not one doctor thinks he will...that's a miracle. God decided it was this person's time to live instead of die. Birth is a miracle. And yes, it is explained by science very well, it's a miracle when that child is born and the love that a mother and/or a father has for their child is proof of God.

I don't think He sends people to Hell for doubting. He sends people to Hell for committing crimes....murder, theft, etc...and only when they haven't asked for forgiveness.

There is a difference between religion and faith. I have faith in God but I don't always have faith in religion. Religion is a business and all the laws and all the things in the bible, written by man so there are going to be faults. All the things in the bible are open to the interpretation of the reader.

If someone puts their faith in science, so be it from me to change their mind. I believe in science, but I have faith that there is something bigger out there. For me, it's God. For some people it's the elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water. For some it's Destiny. So who is right? Who knows? None of us will until the end, whenever that is. I don't think you're a skeptic.

I think you believe what you want and I'll believe what I want. And as long as there is tolerance of everyone's different beliefs then life should move a little more smoothly.

I'm a Christian and I can honestly say that I have ALOT of doubts when it comes to my religion and the existence of God. I have always wondered how God can be alpha omega(no beginning and no end). I mean, isn't it that every single thing had a beginning? Well, I think that having doubts is just natural for all of us to have and these doubts have yet to be answered.

in no way. in reality it relatively is completely organic to have doubts. study the bible and seem at existence and how the bible applies to it, i think you've many greater doubts. it is while you're a rational thinking man or woman with an open strategies.

First off, he says, those you dont BELIEVE will go to hell. So doubting his existence is unbelief. God doesn't send people to hell for rational doubt, its because they dont have faith. you have faith in lots of the things, the brakes on your car will work when you push them, the lights will come on when you flip the switch. why is it such a stretch to have faith that God can save your soul? You can prove God exists as much as you can prove that the earth formed on its own. All you have are facts from a scientist, you cant prove it, you take what they say on faith. Why is it so hard to believe words that were written thousands of years ago and proven to be historically accurate. As for skepticism, you are using the free-will God gave you.

I do not think that God is against people questioning his existence.
He does send and show evidence he exists. You look for and use science and reason to doubt Him. If you spend time and make the effort to find God you will find him.
YOU have chosen not to know God.

Doubting his existence is not a sin.
And it does say in the Bible to have no god before him. Is your science your god?
I was an atheist for around 20 years before I looked at the evidence and concluded that God was real and Jesus the way to him. What evidence are you looking for?

It is not a sin to think, nor to question, nor to explore. It is a sin to deny the existence of God, because in doing so you first harden your heart, then validate your emotions with what you would call logic.

The evidence of God's existence is all around you. If you cannot see it, first open your heart and it will be revealed to you.

Answer: Wow, what a chip there...but what cinched it for me was "the brain that YOUR god gave us?" thing.
Logic tells me that there is only one single Divine! So, no matter what whoever calls, sees, or demonstrates faith, all that energy ends up in the self same hands as it were.
By the by...I pull for the Divine Feminine.
