Peace077 – Where does it say in the Qur’an that martyrs will be rewarded with 72 virgins in “Paradise”?

Question

There are Muslims who die of martyrdom believing that in “Paradise”, Allah will reward them of 72 virgins. I assume that the martyrs are male and the virgins, female. How about female martyrs, what will they receive? 72 virgin males?

According to the Holy Spirit we talk to, there are still males and females in the spiritual world but there are no more genitals for males, and for females, not only genitals but also what He called the “twin mountains”. I believe this revelation of the Holy Spirit is logically correct. Otherwise, it may cause sex problems like what is happening on earth now. Sex on earth should be used primarily for procreation and for the husband and wife solely.

So, could Muslims please cite where in the Qur’an can one find this rewarding for martyrdom?

These are some verses in the Qur’an that I found where Allah will reward men with, and wed them to, voluptuous and beautiful virgins (houris) with large, beautiful eyes, of equal age, in the Garden of bliss and of pleasure. I did not find the number 72 nor any reward for women. (The following verses are Shakir’s translation to English.)

078.031 – 078.034 – Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement, Gardens and vineyards, And voluptuous women of equal age; And a pure cup.

037.040 – 037.048 - Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. For them is a known sustenance, Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, In gardens of pleasure, On thrones, facing each other. A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, White, delicious to those who drink. There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes;

044.051- 044.055 - Surely those who guard (against evil) are in a secure place, In gardens and springs; They shall wear of fine and thick silk, (sitting) face to face; Thus (shall it be), and We will wed them with Houris pure, beautiful ones. They shall call therein for every fruit in security; [Houris are beautiful virgins.]
052.017 – 052.020 - Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones.

055.056 – 055.058 - In them shall be those who restrained their eyes; before them neither man nor jinni shall have touched them. Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? As though they were rubies and pearls.

056.011 – 056-012 - These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), In the gardens of bliss.

056.036 – 056.038 - Then We have made them virgins, Loving, equals in age, For the sake of the companions of the right hand.

A Muslim will be rewarded in the Garden of bliss or pleasure with houris. This Garden is different from the Christians’ concept of Heaven where the souls of believers of Jesus and righteous would go and will not experience hunger or thirst anymore. There is no more physical body to feed and to quench the thirst. It is just the immortal soul.

brother the quran does say about the reward of 70 virgins i dont exactly know the verse but i have some knowledge on this subject, the word in the quran which u say virgins is actually "hoor" which is a plural of the word "ahwaar" which actually means big,beautiful with white eyes, many ppl have a misconception that the hoor are only for men but they are also for women. And this reward being only for a martyr is also a misconception , this reward is for any muslim who does good deeds like spreading gods word, helping ppl, taking care of the old and needy, feeding the poor etc etc. But besides the hoor there are a lot of other things in the quran that Allah Promises u will get when u enter Jannah. i am not a scholar , but this is some of the things i new i hope this helps u for more deep knowledge refer to a well known islamic scholar.

There is no verse in the Qur'an which talks abt 72 virgins as a reward for martyrs.

There might be a Hadith(sayings of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)) on this but I'm not aware of this.

You have to understanf that the Christian concept of heaven is a little different than Muslim concept of heaven.

I'm not sure about the holy spirits you are talking about, but sorry there's nothing in the qur'an about the 72 virgins. it was based on a hadith compiled by imam tarmidzi, and it wasn't mentioned in the most sahih(authentic) of the compilation of hadith which is the compilation by imam bukhari. Muslims acknowledge that the qur'an and hadith are not equal. the Qur'an is infallible but the hadith are subjected to study, and that's where you get those imam, imam bukhari and imam muslim checking up on the authenticity of each hadith, which is the sayings of the Prophet pbuh. Though other rewards for martyrdom are indeed mentioned in the Qur'an. The Qur'an tells us that heaven is beyond our imaginations

That is about as foolish as saying everyone will get a dollar when they die. Also when you die, the spirit is neither male nor female, to stop just what you said about sex, to keep it from turning into what it is on earth.

EDIT : EX MUSLIM ATHEIST IS A LIAR becoz she says that she doesnt have her Quran but being an ex muslim she must have know like all muslims that Quran is avaiable online.
