Shows the trinity holy Ghost, God the Son and God the Father.

Also Jesus was teaching obedience to his word by submitting to Baptism.

Jesus didn't need salvation proving baptism doesn't save.

Jesus was needing to be baptized. He ask John to do it. John, felt that he was not worthy enough to baptize the Savior. But, when he did, the Spirit of God, from God Himself, flew down out of Heaven and landed upon Jesus, like a bird and filled Jesus, and made Him ready to spread the Word of God and teach the people the right way to live and be. God proclaimed from Heaven and told the people that was there, that Jesus was His Son and He was very proud that He is. Some people who heard it reported it as thunder. You always get some no matter, who simply can't accept the truth, or turns the truth into a lie, or just has to have an answer for everything. They have no faith, no understanding, no common sense.

Very simple:

This was the Lord Jesus Christ being commissioned by God to begin His ministry for the next 3 years.

He was already God in the flesh up until this point & beyond......this just happens to be the moment where the preaching about the kingdom of God began.

Edit:
And yes to the person below me. These passages absolutely do show the trinity. Praise God

Sure, Jesus was baptized by john Because John was at that time Baptizing all Jews to Repent of the dead works of the law.(ten commandments)
Jesus being from the line of Abraham was under the law until he was baptized unto repentance (DIED TO THE FLESH AND WAS BORN AGAIN OF THE SPRIT).
If repent meant to stop sinning and feel remorse over it. Jesus wouldn't have had to do it as HE KNEW NO SIN. Repent is Greek for "to change ones mind"
To quote john the baptist "change your mind and believe the good news of Jesus Christ"
He said this to all the Jews who were Under the law.

Remember later on when all the scribes and religious leaders were trying to trick Jesus, asking Him on whose authority He did all His works - and Jesus said, "OK then I will answer you. But first answer this - the baptism of John, was it from God or from men?"

And they couldn't answer Him because all the people accepted John as a prophet so they couldn't say "from men"; and then if they said "from God" they were basically conceding His point.

There may have been many other reasons for the baptism, but that's what I always think of. Hope that helps.

Jesus went to be baptized by John, but John knew that Jesus was the Savior and the one sent by God. John was giving him respect and announcing that Jesus should be baptizing John, because of who he was. John Baptized him and when Jesus was brought out of the water God anointed him with Gods spirit so he could do the work he was sent to earth to do. God was annoucing that this was his son sent to the earth by him to do the work of God to save all mankind.
