I find that eating dried pitted prunes is quite effective. Plus, it provide the necessary iron you need. Also, drink a lot fluids and water. Eat green, leafy vegetables and fruits which have good fiber and bulk-forming. You can also use stool softner. Make it a point to develop the habit of thinking about and follow thru with daily eliminations.

At least 1 kg of vegetables and fruits a day. If you habitually take carbohydrates as staple, it would be difficult initially. Take minimum carb, meat and fats and more fruit and veg, specially fibre. Eat a lot of salads. It requires a transformation of food habits. But it helps a lot and saves you from long term constipation related complications.

A large glass of ornage juice - with bits in - every morning with breakfast. Also eat a couple of pieces of fruit at about 9pm at night. Oh - and walk more.
