Who attacked atheism? Christianity is always being challenged everyday, whether you are an Athiest or not what difference does that make? I am a Air-thiest, I do not believe that air exist but I still breath it, when the breeze blows I can still feel it and if I found myself at the bottom of the ocean without it I would die. So whether I believe in it or not does not negate the existance of it. An Athiest may not believe in God but God still believes in them. Christianity is far much more than going to church and practicing religious cerimonies it's forming a relationship with the creator of the universe. We believe that, that relationship starts with belief in Jesus the Christ. You can believe what you want to but like the air thing I mentioned earlier I would hate to find myself at the bottom of the ocean just to find out what I believe or did not believe didn't matter because I need the air to live. God is a necessity if you believe He exsist or not. He is like the air we breath. We are all empty dead souls without him.

Some of us do defend Christianity without attacking anyone else's beliefs. To the best of my knowledge, I can't recall ever attacking someone else's beliefs on here.

I try to use facts as much as possible, even though I'm well aware that religion is a matter of faith.

Proving other religions are false is NOT the same as proving that Christianity is true.

True but it works the other way too.. why, when atheism is challenged, do some people attack Christianity instead of defending atheism?

My Friend,
I do not believe in backing away from a FIGHT but I do not attack a group just because my beliefs are challenged. I do not agree that a person should ever attack one's beliefs at all but that person's beliefs should also never be challenged. We should always attempt to find a common ground and play ball "on the same field". YOU have a right to your beliefs and I do not push you to believe in my GOD just because I do. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

At least in my case this would be a strawman. I don't attack atheism instead of defending Christianity. I can't speak for others on here that may.

Cant say.
But as a recent convert(I never went to church a day growing up)
I found out that-
Jesus says is will be a foolish message to those who don't believe.
He said it pleased god to save man kind by the foolishness preached as through the wisdom of the world man knew not god.
That freaked me out to learn that it sounds hokey on purpose.

And let me tell you, its all true.
Believe in Christ alone and see the world for what it really is.

How would you defend Christianity? It's based on too many falsehoods.

If you're a Christian, your choice is to either attack others, or just keep reasserting the same falsehoods, pretending not to notice that they're not true.

The only honest Christians stance is to admit that your belief is based purely in faith, and doing so doesn't fulfill the main motivation for most Christians, which is to attack non-Christians.

The best defense is a good offense.

If you defend, you are always reacting, if you attack, you could force the other side to defend and start reacting to you

Defending Christianity, is in of itself an attack against Atheism by it's very nature.

People have a nature to attack, or at least defend ourselves against those who attacking us.

Christianity doesn't mean we are totally meek and mild little creatures who will turn the other cheek every time.
Sure, maybe we should, but the human side sometimes says " enough is enough".
