I would get the ps2 cause when I get the ps3 I would only get it to play ps2 games not ps3 games.

The Playstation 2 has the same written programming as the PSx (fat playstation, original) and the PSone (smaller version of the PS, a.k.a., PSX)......
As for the Playstation 3 (PS3), the programming is SUPER similar to what they used for the Sega Genesis (SG400 or SG)......Just that the PS3 has better resolution then the SG400...
As for BUYING a PS3, don't for a year or 3, the price will drop TREMENDOUSLY!!!!
Get a Playstation 2 (PS2), not a slim one, those don't have the input for a modem and also are VERY VERY flimsy....( In Comparison)....
You will save money, and get BOTH of Sony's newer game consols.......

you should just wait and get the PS3 when you can afford it... if you get the PS2 than soon you will be done with it and need to save for a PS3 anyway! If you've gone this long without the PS2 you can wait.... wait for the holiday sales and stuff!

Wait. Cheaper 40GB is coming, but you won't be able to play PS2 games on it, but you'll forget about PS2 games as soon as you'll play PS3 games.

that's a long wait for the ps3 buddy
and WRONG. dont buy the ps3, just dont. dont ask why, you should already know why. even with the price cut on it, if you want to buy accessories for it, it could cost you more than a thousand
