I think the question might be phrased like this... "were you ever a Christian to begin with?"

After Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Eddie Gein, H. H. Holmes, and Jack The Ripper failed the human test as deserving the title of human being, nonetheless this doesn't make me want to denounce being a human. People do what they do. But just because someone doesn't live up to what they claim to be, should never be an argument that we base our own cause upon.

Well I am not a christian, but the main tenet of Christianity is suppose to be forgiveness. They continually forgave the above mentioned people, but I doubt that the ones who forgave them generally practice forgiveness.

Probably more - you left out dozens more.
Because I am a follower of the teaching of Christ not some silk suited huckster snake oil salesman - there is nothing NEW about these false prophets and false shepherds - look

Jude 1

1Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

2Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

So plus ca change - plus c'est la meme chose

By the way - which particular sayings, teachings, or actions of Jesus do you object to?????????????????? hmmmm????

I don't believe in Jesus' divinity, but I do believe in his teachings on unconditional love and social justice. I think anyone who seeks power is missing the whole point of his message. Power corrupts--and the homeless carpenter from Nazareth never sought it during his lifetime here.

These men did horrible things but you have to remember......they are men.

If you could follow anyone, hear their thoughts, see everything you would wonder if anyone was saved.

I'm a sinner Rom 3:23

i sin

i needed a Savior

Jesus died and he is the example to look to.

compare yourself to any man and you will find something your doing better than they are.

Compare yourself to Jesus and you fall short every time.

What do I care about those guys? I don't follow them. I do my best to follow Jesus.

Besides, Christianity is not about Christians, or at least it's not supposed to be. It's about Jesus Christ.

My faith in God has nothing to do with others actions. These people had sinned they will have to answer to God for themselves.

Many people of God have fallen. It is our duty as Christians to forgive and forget and to help them back up when they are down.
