The unrational panic of people who think the world is going to end.
For example, some people are convinced that we are going to be covered in water, but there's hard evidence that the water levels today are lower than they were 160 years ago.

The most pressing concern is getting better data on how much temps have actually warmed. The weather stations were designed to give a measurement of weather not to assess changes in climate to a tenth of a degree.
Anthony Watts is leading a quality survey of weather stations. All of them are being photographed and documented. Only 15% in the US actually meet the minimum requirements of NOAA. 95% of these stations have an artificial warming bias. It looks like up to half of the observed warming is not even real.
Check out the pictures. Some are even on top of parking lots!

Though there are many things to worry on climate changes, the most pressing issues are...
1.Global warming
2.Increased Co2 emissions

The most alarming, to me, is the melting of the glaciers that leads to the rising of sea water, which leads to the vanishing of the low elevated islands--where plants and animals live, including communities of man.

The polar ice caps melting, and sooner or later we will all be consumed my water. We can prevent it, but people don't care.
