Great question!
Yes they fall away into organized religion.
The "love" of many grows cold.
My dislike of organized religion is precisely because the message of love is often neither understood or taught because the "Prime concern" is establishing the divinity of one man above all others.
While Jesus is the savior and performed a unique function and is in fact the greatest of all of us he also taught that we are heir to the same qualities he had via love, which he defines as being God.
The falling away is spiritual, the religion remains and kills the spirit.

Medjugorje 1981.A shimmering figure of a woman upon the hill bathed in a brilliant light. The figure identified herself as "The Blessed Virgin Mary."She will give each seer 10 messages or secrets that will occur in the near future. She is appearing to the seers to tell the world of the urgency to return to the ways of God.
Mirjana (visionary) "Before the visible sign is given to humanity, there will be three warnings to the world. The warnings will be warnings on the Earth. Mirjana will witness them.Three days before one of these warnings she will advise a Priest of her choice.Mirjana's testimony will be a confirmation of the apparitions for the conversion of the World".
"After these warnings, the visible sign will be given for all humanity at the place of the apparitions in Medjugorje.Th sign will be given as a testimony of the apparations and a call back to faith"
The ninth and tenth secrets are grave matters. They are a chastisement for the sins of the World. The punishment is inevitable because we cannot expect the conversion of the entire World. The chastisement can be mitaged by prayer and penance. It cannot be surpressed. An evil which threatened the World according to the seventh secret had been eliminated through prayer and fasting. For that reason the Blessed Virgin Mary continues to ask for prayer and fasting.

Indeed, it does seem to be happening. In Europe, people are turning to the more mystical oriental religions. In France there is an average of 1 priest to service 8 churches, partly because there are not enough priests to go round and partly because there is not enough congregation for any particular church.
In Italy, the birthplace of Catholicism, statistics show that 1.5% of the population actually attend Black Mass regulary as agaisnt 1.25% who actullay attend the proper Mass. If that doesn't say it all, I wouldn't know what would.

Right now there are over a billion believers on this earth. When Jesus was alive he did not have as many believers as he does now. He at most had only a few thousand, if that many. He for sure only had twelve, if he really existed at all. In that case I think that we will probably have a few thousand years before his believer's numbers are that little.

I am amazed to see how many adulterous people claim that the are believers and they are saved by accepting Jesus only no matter what their deeds are .

In all fairness, I predict that if I proclaimed myself to be the son of god, there would be a lot of people who wouldn't believe me two thousand years from now either.

YEP, I believe God is going to send a major message our way come 2013. If we don't wak up and acknowledge GodHead which is The Father,The Mother(Holy Spirit) and The Son.. we will be in for a rude awakening. You so called believers better get back to praying over meals and acknowledgeing God's Blessings in all you do.

Unfortunatly, yes. It saddens me when I see all the people who have no faith. But, like they say, the night is always darkest right before dawn.
