You're crazy you shouldn't chose a religion based on what you like to eat you pig!

Well you could get rich and famous by starting a new animal eating religion, try having a few visions and revelations, beer could help there or eating cheese before bed. The pagan gods Bacchus and Dionysus would be a good start for inspiration. Then you need a good scriptwriter to write your history and holy book. You'll also need a marketing man and a business manager, and probably a good lawyer.

With the amount of obesity about a new set of animal eating rituals should go down really well.

Sorry, but you cannot tailor a religion to suit your tastes. You don't choose one to fit your lifestyle, thereby making yourself a 'good' person in that religions eyes (if they have dietary requirements) by default. That's like saying, I like s*x outside of marriage, which religion will allow that so I can still call myself devout and good in their eyes.

You could be a Christian, most variations of that religiion have no ruling on those foods.

You cannot be, a muslim, a buddhist, a Jew, a Hindu, I'm not sure without looking in my book about a Zoroastrian (which is an interesting religion, and very old).

Don't join a religion to suit your diet, think about what you actually believe.

Better still, don't join any organised religion, simply lead a good clean life, looking out for others, being peaceful, not causing any harm.
You'll do OK then.

Myself, I'm not in a religion, and have my own views on God (as to whether he exists or not), not those laid down by others

(Genesis 9:3-4) Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for YOU. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to YOU. 4 Only flesh with its soul—its blood—YOU must not eat.

We may not get out every little scrap of blood from animals but if we make the effort, it is being obedient to this command.
We know we can digest some blood [ it is present in every steak] without harm, so it is the PRINCIPLE HERE THAT IS IMPORTANT. THE OBEDIENCE. THE EFFORT.

The best religion is always the one that will give you eternal life. What profit is it if you eat all the food you want throughout your life and end up in hell for eternity? Seek for Jesus Christ.

Matthew 16:26 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?
