You'll get a default warrant and the next time you have a run-in with a cop you'll be brought in.
Best to go and deal with it then to run. All the states are now linked when it comes to court warrants.

If its a criminal case, they can issue a warrant for your arrest. At the very least, that would create the possibility that you might get arrested the next time you encounter law enforcement in Massachusetts (so forget going to Boston for any sporting events). Depending on the seriousness of the case, they might indicate a willingness to extradite you from New Hampshire. If they are willing to extradite, you could be arrested by your local police department.
If it is a traffic ticket, they will also suspend your right to drive in Massachusetts and notify the state of New Hampshire. That notification might (I don't know enough about New Hampshire law) lead to your license to drive being suspended in New Hampshire.
If it is a civil case (instead of a criminal case), they can enter judgment against you without you being present. That judgment could be registered in New Hampshire and, as such, could be used to garnish your wages or bank account to pay off that judgment.
In short, there is no benefit to deciding not to go to court. If you miss court, a lot of bad things can happen in addition to what could happen if you attend court and lose your case.

Most likely if you get pulled over in NH they will pull it up in the comp and hold you. If it's for something minor, MASS will probably not take the time and money to extradite you. However be warned if you apply for jobs and they do background checks you'll have a lot of trouble getting one when you have a bench warrant out for your arrest, even if it is for something minor.

five pounds of what? pot or coke? makes a bit difference
but no matter what the drug was with that much weight I am sure it is a felony, a warrant will be issued for your arrest, if you are ever pulled over or question by police the warrant will come up, you will be arrested and for five pounds they will extradite you back to MA you a long jail time

i think it depends on why you are supposed to be in court. is it a 75 mph in a 55 zone or is it something more severe?
my gf got a 75mph in a 60mph ticket and her court date was 4 hours away yet in the same state but she had a lawyer in that town take care of it. it cost her about $300 total but the ticket was reduced to improper equipment and will not show up on her dmv report so her insurance wont go up.

If you have received a court summons, wherever it is, and you don't attend, the court could issue an arrest warrant.
