Go to theknot.com. Most wedding planners deal with brides who don't live there. That's the bread and butter of their industry. Anyone who is telling you that is "too difficult" for them is either 1-lying or 2-you have unrealistic expectations, like to have a wedding for 400 people on a budget of 3,000.

The knot will give you tons of suggestions in the area. Also, have you picked a church? If so, ask the church if they've worked with any wedding planners. Many will have a list of suggestions. My reception venue had a list of caterers they'd worked with in the past and when I went to get my bridesmaids dresses, that bridal salon had business cards for photographers, caterers, planners, etc.

Also try doing a yahoo search for wedding planners in Michigan. I think that book "here comes the guide" has one for each section of the country.

GL!

Really? Wow, some wedding planners would jump all over that situation, I would think. My husband and I didn't have a professional wedding planner, but his aunt, two cousins, and ourselfs helped plan the wedding. A wedding planner is a good idea bcuz it takes so much stress off the bride so she can worry about things that she needs to worry about. You don't have to hire a professional, it can be your best friend, or someone that has the same taste as you do. Good Luck!!

I am a wedding planner located in NY but we do work nationwide. We would be more then happy to send you literature and help you with all your wedding needs. We understand what a stressful time this can be so it is our goal to let you enjoy this special time in your life. Also at this time we are running a contest that is in conjunction with bridal shows we are running. The grand prize is a full service wedding planning buy Confetti Event Planning. This included everything from meeting with vendors, theme and color layout and all planning aspects of your wedding. This contest is being held nationwide and we do come to you for all of the meetings and run your entire big day to ensure you can just relax and enjoy your special day. If you would like you can email us your wedding date, estimated number of people, and wedding location and I will have my secretary enter you into the contest. Also, if you are interested in getting literature about our services e-mail us and I will have a package mailed out to you. Congratulations!
