Why the dreadful coverage of Nascar ?? It wouldn't surprise me,if they had their IRL audience, watching the race, with a gun stuck to their head !!!!

Sorry but I just don't see it quit as bad as you do. I'm not sure how long you have been watching but I go back from the day when you got to see the Daytona 500 on TV and that was it.
I have seen the announcers that were on every race that made you wonder am I this dumb? The ones that make you wonder who are they in bed with like Ken Squire who could remember anything about the sport he just couldn't remember the right names. Don't even have a first name of Dale or Jeff because your last name was never right.I have put up with Buddy Baker and (God rest his soul) Benny Parsons telling me what push and loose is every race.
Now to be fair I am a guy who really can't stand the players who were involved in the NA$CAR's big TV deal in 1999 that took effect in 2001. The way they treated the other stations that were there in the beginning who helped make NA$CAR what they are today, making them stay out of the track compound and do there auto racing news out in the parking lot was over the line for me. So even if FOX, NBC and TBS are the best ( which they aren't) I would and never agree with there coverage as being superior. I am older than boggity crap. I really feel ill when I hear that and Mc's intro to it is just as dissgusting.
I don't really care who announces the race either. I am entertained with the race. This is my only the only sport I watch on TV and know enough about it that I guess I listen but I don't care if they make a mistake. I can get past it. I have to thank Ken Squires for that.
EVERY channel has comercials. I would suppose some need a few more than other's and every channel is up against the clock. If NA$CAR gets the yellow stuck in there hands then the race time is longer and gets close to the dead line to start the next show. It isn't because they want to but there are people that want to watch something else and the higher up's who have to make everyone happy has to think about everyone. You got to see your race be happy with that and not if you heard a interview from the 5th place driver or not this doen't make them bad.

Considering the coverage that the ABC Wide World of Sports gave to auto racing in the 60's(once a month and about 20 to 30 minutes of a race) this coverage is golden. But the ESPN format is being used to set guidelines and that is their choice of system.
So seing 75 to 80 percent of the race is all they want to show the fans.the rest is commercials or personal commentary. Then as soon as the race is over then if it is close to the half hour cut to the next program.

It's sad that they have tried to distinguish themselves from the NASCAR coverage of the other networks. They have feature subjects that nobody is interested in, their producers feed their commentators story lines that have little credibility with the fans, and they often miss lead changes, cautions and restarts while airing a commercial--without the "side-by-side" feature they use for the IRL coverage--or explaining bent valves over and over again.
I think their problem is that they are trying to be different, and failing at it. I remember when ESPN had good race coverage--when they were the first cable network to cover the sport full time.

this could be a powerful question. i'm Jamaican so i will provide a non biased answer(by ability of that I propose non American or non British answer) i for my area think of NFL is the extra suitable activity because of the fact, unlike rugby it takes brains. They pause and injury lots to discus physique of recommendations and speak to the play, in rugby all you need to do is administered around and despite the fact that in case you get tackled all you need to do is lie there till clock runs out. additionally rugby gamers are no longer 0.5 as reliable as NFL gamers while become the final time u observed a rugby participant throw a ball 60-yds with pinpoint accuracy, while become the final time u observed a rugby participant get hit so no longer ordinary he blacked out and then returned seconds later and that i comprehend there is not any rugby participant who can 100yds in 8 seconds, HUH. NFL is extra extreme, it takes mor than in basic terms working around like some great jackass(YOU) with a ball on your hands hoping the gamers are dumb sufficient to no longer handle(in spite of this they are that's why they play rugby). i'm no longer gonna lie, i think of that rugby, like soccer would desire to be an relaxing activity in case you already realize it. additionally for the international area they have soccer leagues in Canada,, Mexico(i think of, in spite of everything they have a Spanish madden), one in Europe, Japan or maybe Australia. Oh definite, one extra element i do no longer see rugby having an formally authorized activity the place activity agencies pay for the period of the nostril to get the liscencse(A.ok.A. EA activities) additionally dude, what have been you thinking putting this on yahoo solutions you're gonna get trashed lots you will cry

Yeah, the coverage sucks. They always cut off the post race interviews to get to thier next program, they dont cut back quick enough for cautions and Rusty Wallace is more annoying than Cosell and Madden combined. And dont even get me started about all the Cut-away car segments.

NASCAR isn't paying ABC enough $$ to make coverage better. NASCAR should have enough extra $$ to pay tv stations for better coverage since they make an extra $1 million dollars from HMS every time they help the team out to get Gordon or Johnson to victory lane.

I'm not a fan, but NASCAR pulls in more people to a live sporting event than any other. There's like 200k people in a crowd. Just b/c you don't like it, doesn't mean it doesn't have a huge audience
