You know how that Xbox 360 has a wireless adapter... does the PS3 have that? Or can I just use any wireless card thing that has USB?

The 20gb PS3 does not. It also does not come with the card slots in it. I wanted backwards compatibility so I got this one. The 80gb PS3 do not have backwards compatibility but the 60gb ones do. Also, I think I would know my own PS3.

The PS3 doesn't have a Wireless adapter.

Basically you could havve gotten the 80 or 60 GB model. Although the Emotion Chip was left out, the PS2 is being emulated in Software.

So basically you could still play your PS2 games and connect the PS3 wirelessly.

Only the recently released 40 GB model doesn't have PS2 compatibility.

As for a wireless solution, get a so called Wireless bridge.
It's a device, where you connect the PS3 with a short ethernet cable, and the signal is then bridged wirelessly. These bridges cost about $30 - $50.
And to the answerer above me: VPN has nothing to do with this...

First, let's clear up the backwards compatibility issue:

PS1 and PS2 backwards compatibility???

20GB - Yes (uses the Emotion Engine)
40GB - No (no backwards compatibility at all)
60GB - Yes (uses the Emotion Engine)
80GB - Yes (uses software emulation)

Out of the 4 models, the ones using the Emotion Engine will give you the most backwards compatibility. About 97% of all PS1 and PS2 games will play fine.

The 80GB which uses software emulation won't allow you to play as many PS1 and PS2 games as the versions using the Emotion Engine since it uses software emulation and not actual hardware as is the Emotion Engine.

Now let's take a look at WiFi compatibility.

20GB - No
40GB - Yes
60GB - Yes
80GB - Yes

Is there a WiFi adapter card you can buy for the 20GB version?? Unfotunately, the answer is NO.

So if you have the 20GB version (which I'm assuming), then your best bet for wireless connectivity would be what Arminator suggested and that's to get a wireless bridge.

HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK!

If you've got 20GB - it's a bit of a problem, since no official wi-fi card was released. It's better, if you plug in usual router with VPN support. It'll cost around 35$. Also you'll need RJ-45 cable.

PS3 has WiFi built in, no need to buy any adapter.

Edit - I have the 60 GB version, I was unaware that the other versions varied so greatly on technical spec's. Kind of confusing.
