ok first things first, I know this is the wrong catergory to post this under. But I need some solutions ASAP and I know this is where the question answering people are.
Ok... My girlfriend just moved from the O.C. to SD, and it has taken her longer to find a job then she had expected. All her bills are stacked to the brim...
She now has three jobs, One she started a week ago (unfortunatly part time and bi-weekly) the second is also part time and she only started yesterday, with the third being a full time that she starts on friday. Having read all that i'm sure that explains the just of the situation. As much as I would love to help I am completely strapped myself. Can any of you money savey people give her any ideas on what she can do before she is burried with bad credit & late fee's etc. etc. etc.

Thank you
When it rains it pours

in response to the first answer : She found a really good paying full time job that she starts on friday. The thing is that her bills were due yesterday her ins. is about to lapse and the late fee's and bad marks on her credit from other due bills are not gonna stop. Her first check won't be in for like two weeks....

Google - Dave Ramsey. the guy is a genius. Anyway, first, she needs to communicate with her creditors. Let them know the situation and what she is willing and can do to get them paid back. As long as they get their money, they don't care how they get it. Next, she needs to start with the smallest bill first. Pay minimum amounts on the rest, but make a larger than minimum payment on the smallest of the bills. After she has this bill paid off, the apply the same amount she was paying to that bill to the next smallest bill. Continue this cycle until you are debt free. It is called the snowball effect. Like I said google search Dave Ramsey. He goes into more detail. Hope it all works out.

1 full time job and a casual bar job for nights or waitressing!!! Have sundays free for you two to spend time together!!! That is important!!!

I am in the same situation, sorry to tell everyone my finace details but I have

300 a fortnight on my car
200 phone bill once a month
car insurance
rent
electricity
blah blah blah

I have a full time job which pays 900 p/f
and my cas job which pays 200 p/w im doing fine now

She just needs to get on her feet, it will be hard for the first couple of weeks!!! She needs to cut luxuries for a while...No hair getting done, clothes, going out for dinner/lunch etc.

I dont know the full situation but I hope this helped :)

Also, it is important not to have too many jobs...she will get exhausted and burn herself out!! which is really not good!!

I am not sure if they have consumer credit counseling in your area, but I am sure they have something like it. What they do is take all your bills and work with the creditors and alot of times get the interest rate lowered. Then she makes payments based on what they have come up with, which is much affordable. Also, it gets creditors off her back. Worth looking into..........

She can just start paying a bit more than is due on credit cards, and other bills until she is caught up. The credit will reparir itself once she has caught up and established that she can stay that way.

Nope she is doing the right thing. Jobs and paying it off. Maybe finding one great job rather than three crappy no good jobs might be better. But you start with whats there in front of you and work your way up
