The laxative will work on the food in your colon. Yer lunch will still be in there. Trying to kep from losing weight, are we? After decades of research - eating less and exercise is still the only way. Sorry about that friend.

I am concerned by the way you are thinking. If you eat a lot and then take a laxative that is really unhealthy. What else would you do. Just eat healthy as practical and forget about the rest, dont get caught up in how you look - would you really want someone who is attracted to you on the basis of the results of a box of laxatives?

No, probably not. Certain components of food are easily digested (like carbohydrates), and will still be absorbed before the laxative takes effect.
You'll most likely stay the same size, but you'll be more dehydrated and physically sick.
On that note, this is a symptom of bulimia and can get out of hand if you do not deal with the underlying issues first, and soon. Despite common belief, people with bulimia usually do not lose much weight - it can actually cause gains. This is not an effective way to lose weight.

Laxatives stimulate/irritate the mucosal lining of the large bowel to increase the movement of stool to treat/prevent constipation. Using a laxative to "clean yourself out" is very unsafe. Your question sounds as though you are considering this as a weightloss approach. This wont be effective because the nutrients (good and bad) will still be absorbed in the small bowel. Also, chronic laxative use will create a physical dependency where you will be unable to have a bowel movement unless you use a laxative.

You would be classified as a bulemic and you need to go see a therapist as to why you wish to gorge yourself and then ruin your bowels to get rid of the nutrients. Poor judgement. I am sorry, but this doesn't fool me or the rest of the world reading your question. You'll ruin your system, causing devastation and illness down the road into the near and distant future. Should you decide to do this, you'll not only be hurting yourself, but your family, as well, and don't think that a little bit here and there will not hurt. I am guessing you're no more than 13 or 14. Two points off for me if your a couple of years older than that, but I can handle it, however, you won't be able to handle what will become of yourself should you start on this nightmarish rollercoaster ride. I would recommend doing much, much research. You have access to the internet. Start analyzing, researching, Googling, consulting with a counselor and your parents.
Good luck to you, Sweetie, in whatever you decide for your health and your life.

Wow, you sound desperate. Don't become one of those gravely ill people. If you are not one of them you sure sound like you are becoming one. You are doing your body a lot of harm by using laxatives, because you are depriving your body of nutrients. Don't start being a sickooooo

Nope, it just help you induce bowel movements. If you want to clean out all of the food, eat high fiber foods like oatmeals or take yogurt.

Maybe... -The two things may counteract each other, & NOTHING could end up happening. It's BEST to take Laxatives on an empty stomach...
