Spirituality came into existance when religions failed to give real mental peace. Religions, all over the world, are full with rituals & demand that they should be followed without questioning. This may not be so acceptable in to-day's age where sharing of knowledge is worldwide.
Also, religions failed to give mental peace due to over emphasize on rituals. Some of the rituals have been really a disturbance. I don't mention them, you already have some.
Actually the spirituality is no new thing, it is there in all holy books. Many people have tried to extract it from books & presented to people in the manner, they thought would be acceptable.
In current time Osho Rajnish, Sadhu Vaswani, Asharam Bapu and many more are apparently widely accepted. Art of living, which is very famous, is nothing but a short version of spirituality.
According to me, based on my personal experience, Brahmakumaris have a very well organized literature, teaching technics, practising facilities for this. They are free for all, no religion bar, superb guides in the field. Pl try them once.
