It shouldn't matter but often it does. There are two things to think about here. You can worry forever what your friends think or you can move on and do what makes you happy. If they are truly your friends then they will not care as long as it is someone who makes you happy and treats you right. Just remember that no matter where you go someone will always have an opinion whether its someone who is too fat or too thin or too blonde or too brunette. Go with what you feel and make YOU happy!

no it shouldnt tell them first by saying that they cant judge you, then tell an see thier reaction now if they are dum about it then they arent good enough to be even called a friend, do what you want to do an date who you want dont make it up to them its about what you want who you like an nobody can change that, as for the guy just tell him the truth that you friends are ignorant and some of them arnt open to a mix race relationship, but you dont care. an go for him...

Race does NOT matter. And neither does your friend's opinions. If you like the guy, go for it, period. In the LONG RUN, culture might matter more than anything, but being bi-racial myself, I can tell you that love does not discriminate.

you need to school your friends on the race thing..if you like him you TELL him..be friends with him and if your friends have a problem with that they can go back to the past..cause it's certainly not here.
while racism still exists today ( with the spring-up of nooses being hung places and racial hate crimes in West VA) I think you are an individual, you can't control whom you fall for...if you like this guy and you are SURE that this guy LIKEs you back...go for it.
also..if your friends have to approve of things you get involved in..what kind of friends are those eh?
I believe you should never have to wonder about your friends..you worry about parental approval, about teacher approval, about doctor approval..NEVER WORK or STRIVE to remain friends with people..if you find yourself steering off of your true self when you're with them..something's wrong.
so again..( by the way, my bf is Japanese...I made the first move and we've been together since 04 ^_^) race to me doesn't matter..I say go for it and if he doesn't like u, screw him..there are more..trust me.

If your friends are so closed minded that they think race should keep two people who love eachother apart, then why on earth do you want to be friends with them?!
I suggest you take your sweetie pie and find a new set of friends.

If you don't take the chance, you're always gonna wonder, 'what if...?' Race shouldn't be an issue, but it is and chances are it will always be. You really don't have to tell your friends anything - it's your life, not theirs. Maybe they'll see in him what you do and come around.

Sorry to hear, but that is one fact of life that's not too pleasant. Just go with your instinct and don't worry too much of what your friends' approval. It's your life, not theirs (your friends) correct? Just tell him the facts; if he's really into you, he'll understand and will help/be there for you.

Don't live your life based on what you think other people will think. Live it for you and what you want! Race shouldn't matter. It's sad that is does to some people. Why would you want to associate with people who are so closeminded and judgemental?

No it shouldn't i think you should talk to the guy first and see where it goes and then tell your friends. If they don't support you then they are not your friends you don't want to be around people that are always gonna have negatif talks about your relationship

If you like him tell him it should not matter what color you are. I lived with parants like this for 16years of my life the day I moved out is when they tryed to punich me because on of my black friends came to pick me up from work. If your friends are putting you down because of it then there NOT YOUR FRIEND'S. friends are someone who it there know matter what color your b/f or g/f is
