St Ives apricot scrub is not a face cream; it is an exfoliating [ removes dead layers of skin ] scrub.
1] wet face as usual, in sink, tub, or shower.
2] use a tablespoon of scrub, and gently scrub face with tips [ pads ] of fingers. [ i use any extra for feet, knees, elbows - you could do your whole body if it gets really dry! ]
3] rinse many, many times, and blot dry. Use approx twice aweek if skin is normal or dry; three times if oily.

I'm not a fan of that product, actually. At least not for my face- the bits of walnut shell are too coarse and tear up my skin.

Try an exfoliant with micro beads or a chemical exfoliant instead- usually you just wet your skin, gently rub a dab or two on in little circles, and rinse, but pretty much every product has instructions on the bottle/jar/whatever.

I agree with Nurse Susan, with the exception that many of my clients have complained that the scrub is too harsh for their face. It is not a bad product, try it out, if it is too harsh on you face you can use it to exfoliate the rest of your body, it does work great on legs.
Since it is a new product for you give it a try but if it starts to hurt or you have noticeable redness stop using it.

I love this stuff. First wash your face with warm water and face cleaner. Then apply scrub and massage. Avoid eyes. Rinse off and pat dry with a clean dry towel.

first moisten your face, dab a bit into the palm of your hands, rub in your face in these directions(up,down, away from nose and toawrds), rinse and dry face. Apply lotion after.
