I worked 14 hours yesterday and I stopped by my friends house on the way home just to say hi and he treated me hateful. It was about 9 pm and he was studying for a test for his job and he was so nasty to me, I told him I hoped he lost his job and it would do him good to have some time away.
I also expressed to him I praid about his health and hoped he would lose his job. I told him I was tired of him working himself to death while his family cant even stop by for a meal. They treat him pretty bad. He just works himself nearly to death. He has diabetes, high blood pressure, borderline renal function.
He was laid off today for flunking the test. He cannot return to work until he passes the test. I am delighted. He is not saying too much about it.
Do you think a prayer was answered?

He has plenty of money. He is able to support himself just fine and he does not need to work like he does. He is exhausted and needs time off.
He says he is not saving for retirement because he will not live long enough to retire because he knows he works himself to death.

Its not rude intentions at all. Its more like "God, could you please intervene before he kills himself"
I asked God to help him about a year ago and it worked.

Its also not misfortune. The man is LOADED. for lack of a better word. If he never worked another day in his life he would be set. Its not a money issue. Its an issue where he thinks he needs to support his adult children who are too lazy to work.

It's possible
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

MY opinion, your first comment that he hurt your feelings so you prayed he would loose his job....That does not sound like the right attitude to pray in. If you had prayed he would get his health back, or that he would realise he is loosing the most important things in this life like friends and family, well I might buy that BUT your friend is NOT happy. Not even with this break because to him its not a break its just another way he has failed in this life. You did not help him change his thinking and the minute he can he will be right back to work again. I dont believe God would do that FOR you or TO your "friend".
Perhaps find ways to help him take that needed break, invite him on vacation with you or just scedule in your together time onto his calander. Sorry for all the rude comments, but you sounded really vindictive and mean to start with. Re read it and listen to how it sounds to those reading it.

A prayer was answered, but not by God.
This decision YOU made about your FRIEND shows a complete lack of awareness about what is important to him.
It doesn't matter how YOU feel; what matters is he feels bad; you visit him at night when he is trying to study, then lash out and 'wish' him misfortune, it comes true, and YOU are happy?
Go back and read the 'Friend' handbook instead of skimming it.
Remember, evil ones answer prayers too, and you are ripe for the plucking...
Read the Bible, and pray about this.
I will include both of you in prayers.

I think God hears all our prayers. But he can't fix all of our problems. The situation your friend is in is something he's going to have to figure out for himself. Everyone has the strength within themselves to make themselves better. If you really care about him you should tell him that and not just put him down. If you both keep thinking about the negatives nothing will get better.
I wish for all the luck with you and your friend :)

...in a manner of speaking, yes...even though you may have come across with a bit of sarcasm...it could be the beginning to a better situation for him...often, things that seem horrible at first glance, turn out to be wonderful and a real answer to prayer...just keep praying, but ask God to help you pray with a more comforting heart.

You are practicing witchcraft, you spoke a curse over this man,
God answers prayers that are in line with His will and word, to harm someone by what you call prayers is not of the Spirit of God,
This man lifestyle was instrumental in his illness, pray for him, for peace and healing of his body and soul. i will pray for you to repent and learn to walk in love and spirit and truth.
in Jesus's name
Shalom

I think that your actions were spiteful, foolish, and ill advised. You definitely owe an apology. As for god, that's a fiction; god had nothing to do with the events of the day -- or anything, ever.

Did you really pray for that, or just say you did? God hears our innermost thoughts, not just the words we say out loud! Your friend obviously needs some support, not your OWN hatefulness!

I hope you're joking and not seriously considering that god would get someone laid off just for you. It was a coincidence. Try praying to Satan next time, he gets stuff done and done right.
