My friend was in common law with her husband so she was not even going to have a traditional wedding dress what she got was a while strapless gown with a red bow in the back and red trim on the bottom and she looked so beatuiful.

I had a tradional wedding gown off white with beads I would have gotten a tea length dress but the dress I got was disconcintued and I got it at a good price and did not go into debt over it.

My sister in law had a very basic cream dress with a boquet of flowers her wedding to my brother was very low key they are married 27 years now and all thier friends who had the huge upscale weddings are now divorced do what you can afford.

There is nothing wrong with a colored gown. My gown was ivory and gold with red rubies in the dress. It was dynamite. Designers are now making wedding gowns with so much color because the market is demanding color. You need to pick whatever you choose because the gown is so individual. I have seen some hideous bright pink wedding dresses-bright pink-I would not wear them but I know of people who would.

I wore a red halterneck when I got married. I don't like strapless at all. I've only worn strapless once, when I was a MOH, and I felt completely insecure and self-conscious the whole time. The bride did not take my wishes into consideration, which is her perogative, and I didn't argue, but I hated the wretched dress and it's bundled up in a box in the bottom of my wardrobe! I really don't know why sleeves and straps are so unfashionable. The Duchess of Cambridge had sleeves and Kate Moss had little strappy type things, so maybe they'll make a comeback?

I wore a simple top white/ bottom navy Summer Dress because my honey was in the Army and we were traveling within a week. No time for plans. We are still happily married. Went to the Justice of the Peace.

I did wear a traditional white gown, but a friend of mine had a pale pink and darker pink gown. Sorry to say, but it was hideous!

A pink dress, was married in the chapel of the priest's house. Been married 38 years. A fancy wedding does not make a happy marriage.

I had blue jeans on with a pink summer top and was fat as a cow. I had just had his baby 3 months before and another woman was trying to get her claws into him and he was tired of her crap and would not leave him alone, plus we planned on getting married this summer anyway, so if he was married he was sure she would leave him alone and she would go away. Plus I'd have to kick some *** if she didn't go. So we went on a whim last minute thing to go to the court house and do it. She is long gone and I am happily married with our beautiful daughter. I told her "Hit the road Biotch!"

I originally went to look for a cocktail dress but I ended up getting a beautiful white suit, which cost $40.00. The alterations were $25.00. Good luck.

Mine will be silver.

And all of the weddings I've been to or in have been white. Which I think is over rated.
