im not saying i dont like the rwd v8 im just saying each company involved should produce a car for the series like they used to. gm should be using the gto and chrysler shoould stick with the avenger instead of swtch over to the avenger.

It's the only way that can build the car and Gordon and Johnson will know how to win in it with all their cheating tricks and with the help of their convicted felon boss man.

Agree. It's called the global economy. The automakers cant afford to make a nascar specific model like the old days. Nascar never said lets race fwd four doors. They had to bend with the times just to keep the car makers in the sport. Ford actually tested a Lincoln mark8 body and were going to pull out back when the T-Bird was dropped before Nascar decided to allow 4 doors which opened the door for Dodge's return.
Stop blaming Nascar for every decision.
I do miss the old cars though. A camry? pffft. Give me a break.

Because of the clone car syndrome and the tight regulations, it doesnt matter what the body style of the car is. At least they're still able to represent the big three. Oh wait that's right... Toyota's in the game now. Fortunately NASCAR hasn't outlawed the V-8 engine. I think NASCAR is doing a pretty good job, since our society has a buncha freaks (like the senator from Mississippi) trying to make NASCAR look like it isn't one of the most awesome sports on this planet.

I hear what you are saying and I am not going to get into the technical side of the issue cause you all ready have that I am just going to say all thing that NASCAR once stood for seems to be no more.
So I don't think this should be even brought up because they can't even remember how a race series is to be run let along a race.
They are not that concerned on what type of cars or what is under the hood or if it's pushed or pulled they are worried about the stars of NA$CAR and what will they do next to get your $.

basicaly, the V8 Rear Wheel Drive cars are from when they first started racing back in the late 40's early 50's basicaly, driving this type of car is the only link back to Nascar's Origens besides the ONE race they run at Darlington.

everyone needs to get over the whole nascar/stock cars issue, there is nothing stock about them. they never were stock to begin with. even the original nascar racers driving on the beach at daytona were modified to the best a driver could afford, for at least the last 15 years the name of the car was more about advertising than anything else,
if you want to see stock cars racing, turn on the police chases on the news that go on during the day, for me personally watching 43 cars top out at talladega at a whopping 140 mph would be boring as hell,

The days that NASCAR used cars that resembled factory cars ended in the 90's.
I have been a fan of NASCAR racing for 44 years, and have never agreed when they have changed things, which has been very often. But, because I love the racing and competition so much, I usually accept the changes and continue to enjoy the races.

Not at all. There is nothing like the sound and power of a strong V-8. FWD sucks when it is used with high powered engines, too much torque steer. The race cars don't have a/c, intermittant wipers or cd players either.
If you like 4cyl and FWD their are other series for that.

Think about it who makes an 8cyl RWD car anymore aside from Dodge (ok and maybe Pontiac), I mean really who wants to see a bunch of Crown Vics racing around the track. Also how many single seat open cockpit Hondas do you see running around.

It's not that I disagree with NASCAR in the way that you point out exactly. I disagree that NASCAR is considered Stock Car racing when the cars that they use are anything but stock.
