Because atheists aren't trying to force everyone else to be atheists.

Maybe personal bias, or maybe because some of the Atheists on here are a bit more articulate and kinder when they answer than some of the Christians. I have had plenty of hate from some of the Christians on here, and very little from the Atheists (except the trolls). Keep in mind, Atheists know how it feels to be prosecuted and a minority, while Christians can gang up and force others into their beliefs. For the most part, Atheists don't care wht you believe and a lot ofChristians on this site are hardcore fundies.
That said, there are good and bad of each in equal proportions. Atheists and Christians can all be jerks, or on the other hand be kind and all. Maybe it's the questions you ask?

Ouch. And I would probubly agree with you if I had posted any specific questions that push "general" christian beliefs. Sadly, many supposed christians do not practice what they preach in the way of brotherly kindness and love. It was Jesus himself who said "he who is without sin, cast the first stone" but also, there is alot of passion behind those that believe. I mean, athiests, by title, believe nothing so have no faith, nothing to defend. Whereas for some Christians, their whole existance relys upon their faith and therefore they must defend it with their lives. BTW I am a Christian but shunned by the general Christian society. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints and know with all my being that Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer yet a prominent Christian Preacher was on the news calling us lyers and wolves in sheeps clothing just recently as if he had the right to decide whether I believed in Christ or not. Thats life. Full of judgments and judgmental people. Even you just judged all Christians against all Athiests. I find it best to not clumpany people together but to take each individual as they are. Labels are usually decieving.

Christians believe the unbelievable and expect everyone else to do likewise. If we don't, we're called devil's spawn and banished to burn in hell forever. Atheists don't expect anything from anyone, but when they get a bonehead answer like many of the ones Christians give, they do get a good laugh out of it. Also, most Christians fundamentalists are pretty lame at comebacks. LOL
I get more hate mail from MUSLIMS! What about those guys, huh?

Thanks, that means alot. I'm guessing because we are not trying to convert people, only find the logical flaws of others in their sales pitch. We also tend to be better at constructing rational arguments instead of rehashing Bible quotes without critically thinking about the subject as a whole. I also think what respect we give out ourself is more sincere since we aren't pushing anything, if there one you can say that's almost always true is that we are completely honest about our beliefs.

My guess is that you find our answers more knowledgeable, more witty, and more irrefutable than those given by Christians. The reason I say this is that statistics indicate that the more education one has, the more likely that they will be an atheist. So the chances are that, as a group, we're just better informed.

There are more than just the two factions answering questions here you know. I am neither a Christian nor an Atheist. My beliefs are more eastern.

because atheists are free thinkers and are not being poisoned with lies they have been hearing since they were children. we have independent minds and they have weak minds and that is why they need religion to use as a sort of therapy. they only believe in god because they fear punishment and hope for a reward, and that is really sad.

Actually I had a lot more respect for atheist before I started visiting YA. I used to find them to be fairly logical thinkers. Since coming here I find them to be rude, illogical, hateful, disrespectful, and arbitrary. Funny we had the exact opposite response.

I know how you feel, I believe the same way. I hadn't really been exposed to Atheism until I got on here and they are very respectful, intelligent and amazing people. I love Atheists!
