Or you take it for granted?

Be sure that even the hardness is a blessing and an opportunity to grow.

I thank God for all he has done for me, and always pray for protection and help when I really need it.
There were time when I prayed for him to take me, but He keeps telling me, "not yet"
We all don't realize all we do take for granted.
We need to focus more on prayers daily, not just asking for this or that, but being thankful for what we have, and praise God.
We should thank God for every meal.

I am learning so much about this right now! I've been reading a wonderful book by Merlin Carrothers called "Power in Praise" and it really speaks to how we should be thankful in ALL things because God is sovereign and works ALL things for our good. If it's for our good --- even though it seems bad, shouldn't we be thankful for it? My prayer life has really been changing accordingly and I am experiencing a 'newness' with the Lord that is so beautiful. Again --- if God sovereignly plans/ordains/knows all things, and He tells us that ALL things work for the good of those who love God, isn't NOT being thankful even for the bad things kind of a slap in the face to Him?

...I take nothing for granted anymore....that wasn't always the case, however...but the more life I've lived, the more I realize that God is my benefactor...today, as I sat down at my picnic table to toss the ball for my dog to chase a few times, I started thinking of how thankful I am...

Thanks for reminding us. People forget to give thanks to God and oftentimes pray when they need something. Here is a formula on how to pray shared to us by our pastor.

C --Confess (Psalm 139:23-24; 1 John 1:9-10)

A --Adore the Lord (Psalm 139, 145, 147, Is. 40)

S --Supplicate (Matt.7:7-8)

T --Thank HIM (Phil.4:6-7)

Yes. I try to remember to give thanks first and ask for things after that. Because I should give thanks to God for all the wonderful things that he does and for the trials he puts me through to be a better person and Christian.
